In this episode of Tangible Remnants with Nakita Reed, Equity in Preservation w/ Tiffani Simple.

Historic preservation and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. They are actually two sides of the same coin: both involve buildings and both are about our collective future. Such historic buildings are also created by people in a specific place in time and are subject to the cultural prejudices of race and gender. These buildings are the Tangible Remnants of people who shaped the world and can serve as temporal touchpoints for future generations. Join sustainable preservation architect, Nakita Reed, as she explores the interconnectedness of architecture, preservation, sustainability, race and gender. You’ll learn about people, buildings, and policies that made a historical impact and hear from women and BIPOC practitioners who are impacting the built environment today.

Empowering AEC Leaders to Build a Better World

Gābl Media, a division of Gābl Technologies, Inc., is a multimedia network that empowers global leaders in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries. We create and distribute audio and video content that informs and entertains a vibrant community dedicated to building a better world.

In 2012, architect Mark R. LePage launched EntreArchitect; an online platform dedicated to helping architects build better businesses. EntreArchitect is fueled by the belief that when architects succeed in business they become unbound by limits. They are set free to pursue their passion, focus upon the art and craft of architecture, and therefore become better architects. Architects impact the lives of billions of people every day through the built environment they work to create. By helping architects build better businesses, EntreArchitect is working to build a better world.

EntreArchitect Podcast was first launched in December of 2012 and has since been downloaded more than 2 million times. Each week, Mark R. LePage speaks with inspiring, passionate people who share their knowledge and expertise to help small firm entrepreneur architects build better businesses. With topics focusing on business, leadership, and life as a small firm entrepreneur architect, we recently published the 300th episode of EntreArchitect Podcast.

Building upon the success of EntreArchitect and EntreArchitect Podcast, Gābl Media was launched in January 2020 with a mission to empower AEC leaders to share their knowledge with the world through audio podcasts, video series, and print publications.
