For Julys Label In Focus Episode we will shine the spotlight on the early years of Virus Recordings.
After numerous releases on Metalheadz, No U Turn and others the VIRUS label was started up by Ed Rush & Optical when they started producing tracks together.
It would become a major player in the Techstep/ Neurofunk sub-genres with classic albums like Wormhole & Matrix's Sleepwalk released in these early years
Featured in this '98 - '00 mix are tracks from Ed Rush & Optical, Trace, Bad Company and Matrix

The Only One being my pick off this release. Beautiful track...
2. Dj Crystal, Outrage and Digital - Killa( Function)
Like getting kicked in the Nuts with steel toe caps on...Kiljoy has been playing this for months in his sets so excited to see it released.Looking forward to playing this on a good Sound System.Comes with 2 other Crystal Remixes - Let it Roll (Kiljoy Remix) and Meditation(Outrage Remix) - i had these already on the Crystal Remixes USB.
3. Bungle - Black Waves EP3( Influence Records)
Concord being my pick off this, another solid release from Bungle 🔥🔥

Something a bit different for this weeks episode as we take it back to 1991
A trip down memory lane for some and a insight into the evolution and history of the scene for others

This is where it all really started for me.

1991 - The year i left school as a Stone Roses and Happy Mondays mad Indie kid and embraced the Rave Culture that was sweeping through the UK.
The music , The raves, the flyers, the tape packs, Ecstasy...
The scene back then was a melting pot of Hardcore, House, Belgian Techno, Breakbeat, Early Jungle and Bleeps.
A great time to be alive and the nucleus for everything that was to follow

It is gonna take me numerous episodes for each year but i plan on covering this and all subsequent years as a monthly episode on my Radio Show.

Coming up this Thursday on NEPTUN3 s Drum & Bass Show on Rhythm FM.

Something a bit different as i start a series of episodes taking it back to where it all started for me .

A great time to be alive and the nucleus for everything that came after and for me it was my start of my love for this style of electronic music as it evolved (for me) to Jungle Tekno to Jungle to DnB.

It is gonna take me a few episodes at least for each year but i plan on covering this and all subsequent years as a monthly episode on my Radio Show too.
