Today's Gospel(November 2, 2025)
Luke 19:1-10

At that time: Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. And there was a man named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector, and rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not, on account of the crowd, because he was small of stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down; for I must stay at your house today.” So he made haste and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw it they all murmured, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have defrauded any one of anything, I restore it fourfold.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Today's Reflection:
We are Zacchaeus in many ways. We are sinful and our sins alienate and separate us from our loved ones and friends. But Jesus does not reject us; he loves sinners and he invites everyone of us to enter into his life. He invites us to experience his love and forgiveness. He desires to proclaim, as he did to Zacchaeus: “Today salvation has come to this house.” But, like Zacchaeus, we also must come out of the crowd and take time to seek the Lord in silence. We must also refrain from making excuses for our mistakes and work hard to change our lives through actual deeds.

Let Us Pray:
God of justice and mercy, open our eyes to see you in the face of the poor. Open our ears to hear you in the cries of the exploited open our mouths to defend you in the public squares as well as in private deeds. Remind us that what we do to the least ones, we do to you. In the name of Jesus – Amen.

Have a purposeful Sunday and God bless.

On this Reformation Day, we remember the timeless truth that changed the world — salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone.

Today's Gospel (November 1, 2025)
Luke 14:1,7-11

One sabbath when Jesus went to dine at the house of a ruler who belonged to the Pharisees, they were watching him. Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he marked how they chose the places of honour, saying to them, “When you are invited by any one to a marriage feast, do not sit down in a place of honour, lest a more eminent man than you be invited by him; and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher’; then you will be honoured in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Today’s Reflection:
As followers of Christ, we are not to be bothered about seeking honour from others. What matters is the honor we receive from God. We must live in such a way that God will honor and exalt us. The honor that God will confer on us. That is why we are not to be concerned about whether or not the good we do is recognized by others. We are called to be faithful in doing good even when we are not recognized. We should not be worried about recognition from others as what really matters is the honor we will receive from God.

Let us pray:
Jesus, You endured total submission, Showing me the way to refined living. Submitted to the Father until the end, You fulfilled the Celestial Plan. Teach me the meaning of meekness, My will complying to the Heavenly Father. Remove my weaknesses of disobedience, Shaping me to the Will of God Almighty. Guide me on the road of resignation, Moulding my soul into total submission. I walk in the path of righteousness, Hand in hand with the Lord Jesus! Amen.

Have a good day and God bless.

Today’s Gospel Reading (October 31, 2025)
Luke 14:1-6

On a sabbath Jesus went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees, and the people there were observing him carefully. In front of him there was a man suffering from dropsy. Jesus spoke to the scholars of the law and Pharisees in reply, asking, “Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath or not?” But they kept silent; so he took the man and, after he had healed him, dismissed him. Then he said to them “Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern, would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?” But they were unable to answer his question."

Reflection:

Can we lie to our own conscience?

This is a question that only each of one can honestly answer. But for me, certainly not. Our Gospel today tells us the issue on the Sabbath day. Pharisees are know to be very observant to the law and at the same time hypocrisy are in their system.

But Jesus challenged them to examine their own conscience between doing the right thing or following the law even if it means sacrificing the common good. Today, Jesus is talking to us. He wants us to always follow what our conscience tells us. To follow the voice of God that only our heart can hear. As Jesus said in the book of Matthew, "I desire mercy not sacrifice."

Many of us are turned between money against love; dreams/ambitions versus relationships; pride than humility; and sacrifice than mercy. We are prisoners of our own conscience. And one way to live with it with harmony is to follow what it tells us and never try fool ourselves over our own desires and self-interest than the common good.

Amen.

Today’s Gospel Reading (October 30,2025)
Luke 13:31-35

Jesus’ Sorrow for Jerusalem

31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.”

32 He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’ 33 In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!

34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 35 Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[a]

REFLECTION
Luke 13:31-35 begins with a warning from the Pharisees for Jesus about Herod's plan to kill him, but it becomes a reflection on the nature of Jesus' life and mission (which reach their ultimate goal in his death) and then on the tragic role played by Jerusalem in the life of Jesus and other prophets.

Let Us Pray
Lord Have Mercy upon us
Amen.

Have a good day and God bless.

Today's Gospel(October 29, 2025)
Luke 13:22-30

At that time: Jesus went on his way through towns and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. And someone said to him, " Lord, will those who are saved be few?" And he said to them, "Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ' Lord, open to us.' He will answer you, 'I do not know where you come from. Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets. But he will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity! There you will weep and gnash your teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out. And men will come from east and west, and from north and south, and sit at the table in the kingdom of God. And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last."

Today's Reflection:
In the first reading, Saint Paul exhorts parents, leaders and bosses to show kindness, to lead with love, and to keep in mind that they are accountable to God. He exhorts children and servants to learn obedience and respect, and to keep in mind that they are also accountable to God. In the Gospel, Jesus exhorts everyone to enter through the narrow gate, because in the long run, what matters will not be who gives instruction and who is bound to obey; what matters will not be our earthly status, but who is saved and who is cast out. Let us, therefore, live each day as people who are striving to enter through the narrow way of discipline, faithfulness to God, detachment and repentance.

Let us pray:
O God we beseech thee to grant us the spirit of discernment to ascertain the truth always in our lives. Amen.
Have a great day ahead and God bless.
