Our First Step Into the World of Feature Films: Cinema with Soul; Made in Bangladesh.
For almost the last four years, MANpaCHITRA has been working closely with emerging
filmmakers. As a new production house ourselves, the journey hasn’t been easy. But
being new also means being fresh, different, and unique. After a worldwide festival run with a few independent short films, we are incredibly proud to announce that our first-ever full-length feature film, সাঁকোটা দুলছে (The Blind Girl and an Elephant) is now complete and ready for international distribution.
We started this venture more than two years ago with nothing but endless enthusiasm, a deep love for cinema, and sheer determination. We poured all our time, effort, and resources into this film. Along the way, we faced immense challenges losing footage, reshooting, and over coming hurdles we can’t even begin to describe. But our team never gave up. They stood by the production with unwavering commitment. Their sacrifices made this film possible.
We don’t know whether this film will be selected by festivals, win awards, or find a place in the industry. But completing our first feature despite all odds has made us stronger, more
courageous, and more energized.
This film tells a story rooted in Bangladesh, its society, family dynamics, human rights, and
psychological struggles culminating in a miraculous ending that bridges our mythology and our minds. It is a visual painting of our country, crafted for a global audience.
We believe our honesty, compassion, patience, and years of hard work will connect with people
across the world.
Today, we are excited to reveal the film’s first official poster.The film is currently under international distribution, and after that, it will be released in Bangladesh.Please keep us in your prayers.
