🎉 Yesterday, 26-02-2024 with great pride, we released a beautiful video and song about the history of our ancestors at the Surinamese Embassy with His Excellency Mr. Rajindre Kargi, the Ambassador.
🎶 This video was composed by Raj Mohan and performed by Raj Mohan, Nisha Madaran, Devi Jagmohan, and Jiya Rambaran. This project was motivated and made possible by Vijay Gangadin & Sharmili Gangadin-Kanhai, who are also the producers of this breathtaking project and song/video called "Chhaiyan Chhaiyan," providing insight into the journey of our ancestors, the Girmitiyas and Kantrakis.
🎥 The video for this song was created by me, Manav-D, and I've endeavored to convey the same emotion through the video as with the audio and song.
🌍 This has become an international project, as artists from India 🇮🇳, Suriname 🇸🇷, and the Netherlands 🇳🇱 collaborated, commemorating the 150 years of Indian immigration to Suriname and the Netherlands. The mix, mastering, and much of the music were done in India under Raj Mohan's supervision. As for the video, I received tremendous help with footage from Real Life India and Uttar Pradesh.
