This house is located at the beautification zone of the ancient city of Kyoto, and it is built like two lean-to extended out from the 2-story main house.

Build by:
The lean-to spaces form the center of life here—kitchen, dining, bath, and furniture wrap around the main house like a passage garden. Moving through this space each day, residents see the house from shifting angles: sometimes a tower, sometimes a castle wall. Sleeping areas sit upstairs, accessed by a stair from the passage garden—making it feel like “going home” each night. Inside, a curved, horizon-like space unfolds with a light steel floor and clean, linear details.
