The Arkansas Medical Ma*****na Amendment of 2024 proposes several changes to expand and modify the state's medical ma*****na laws. Key points include:

1. Expanding who can recommend ma*****na treatment by replacing "physician" with "health care practitioner," including doctors, nurse practitioners, and others.

2. Allowing non-Arkansas residents to apply for medical ma*****na cards.

3. Redefining “usable ma*****na” and allowing licensed dispensaries to sell various cannabis products.

4. Allowing qualifying patients to grow ma*****na plants at home for personal use, subject to regulations.

5. Extending the validity of medical ma*****na cards from one to three years.

6. Removing advertising restrictions, replacing them with rules to prevent marketing to children.

7. Allowing possession of ma*****na for adults if federal law changes, permitting recreational use if legalized federally.
