When you’re creating content, are you thinking about your customers… or your brand?

ChatGPT is really good at making word salad, and making YOU sound good… but what about them? You know, the people who actually support your business by handing you their hard-earned dollars? 🤔

Before you ever make another piece of content, take a step back and ask yourself these 3 questions 👇

1️⃣ What is my target audience actually going to feel when this lands on their feed?

2️⃣ Is this truly going to connect with people who find this on the explore page?

3️⃣If I was a customer, would this post make me take action? Help me feel connected? Build more trust for the brand?

If you can’t confidently say “yes” to all three, it’s time to rethink your content strategy.

I have a pit in my stomach sharing these 🙈

I’m naturally a private person, and unless you’re my husband or one of my closest friends, you probably wouldn’t know when I’m struggling. I tend to put my head down, handle it, and keep going.

But these past few years have stretched me, shaped me, and honestly, grown me in ways I didn’t expect, and mixed into the chaos were some pretty incredible things too!

Putting this together reminded me of something I forget too often:
you don’t notice how far you’ve come until you pause long enough to look back.

Every season, every setback, every big win… it all added up to where I am right now, and any time I hit a hard moment, I always try to ask myself...

What is this going to turn me into? How is this shaping me for what’s next? 🤔

So here’s to the things we don’t always talk about, and the things we forget to be proud of, because both matter.

Target audience, ideal customer, client avatar - these aren’t marketing buzzwords meant to confuse you.

Knowing who you’re talking to is a CRITICAL piece of your marketing strategy.

If you don’t know WHO you’re talking to, then HOW can you be the solution to their problems? 🤔

As businesses, we can do all the things on social media.

👉 Build a community
👉 Be responsive
👉 Put ourselves out there

But at the end of the day, if you’re not SOLVING a problem that your customers are having...if you’re not MEETING a need... then you’re not going to see the numbers you’re looking for.
