After a five-year pause due to the pandemic, Holy Cross College of Calinan (HCCC) proudly brought back its highly anticipated Nutrition Month celebration, marking a renewed commitment to promoting health and wellness within the school community.
Spearheaded by the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Area and the School Clinic, the event officially kicked off last July 7 at the HCCC Covered Court, following the theme: โSa PPAN (Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition): Sama-Sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat,โ underscoring the collective effort needed to achieve proper nutrition for every Filipino.
Mrs. Jessica Rabang, the TLE Coordinator, underscored the importance of the celebration, denoting: โHealth is truly our greatest assetโand this is our chance to renew our commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle among students, educators, and the entire community.โ
Bringing color and cheer to the program, Kindergarten pupils delighted the audience with an energetic dance performance to the tune of โMakulay ang Buhay,โ charmingly promoting healthy eating habits among young children.
Adding depth to the program, the school invited Ms. Inez Jasmir Santos, a Nutrition Officer with 23 years of experience, who spoke about the purpose and significance of the celebration.
โThis yearโs Nutrition Month campaign reminds us that healthy eating habits should not be viewed as a luxury, but as a necessity and a human right for every Filipino family," she shared.
The opening program concluded with the announcement of a series of month-long activities lined up for various departmentsโsetting the stage for an engaging, informative, and community-driven celebration of nutrition, health, and well-being at HCCC.
