In a heartwarming initiative that placed health and care at the forefront, the Simulation Room of HCCC transformed into a space of vision and hope on Monday, July 28, 2025 as the Senense-Lozada Optical Clinic conducted a Free Eye Check-Up for the teachers and staff of HCCC.

The event, designed to provide an accessible opportunity for HCCC employees and student assistants to check the condition of their eyes, was both a service and a gesture of gratitude for the dedication shown by the institutionโ€™s workforce.

The initiative was met with appreciation by the participants, many of whom admitted they had been putting off eye care due to time or cost.

Organizers shared that they hoped the event would inspire other institutions to invest in the well-being of their employees.

The team from Senense- Lozada Optical Clinic also worked tirelessly throughout the day, offering professional consultations and eye assessments without charge.

By the end of the day, smiles and laughter reverberated across the Simulation Room. The event proved that when communities come together with purpose and compassion, the vision of a healthier, happier future comes clearly into focus.

In observance of the global celebration of World No To***co Day, Holy Cross College of Calinan (HCCC) held an Anti-V**e Forum on July 21, 2025, at the HCCC Covered Court. The event aimed to shed light on the harmful effects of va**ng and raise awareness about the urgent need to combat its rising use among the youth.

With the theme โ€œDitch Toxicity. Breathe Freely,โ€ the forum encouraged students to reflect on the growing health risks associated with va**ng and to make informed choices for a healthier future.

โ€œBreak away, beat the vape,โ€ remarked guest speaker, Dr. Jermelyn R. Saron, RN, MD, FDCP, DPCCP, a seasoned medical expert and public health advocate who delivered a powerful and eye-opening talk on the physical and mental health consequences of va**ng especially among adolescents.

The forum served as a timely reminder for both Junior High School and Senior High School students to prioritize their well-being and become advocates for a smoke-free and vape-free generation.

In a show of civic responsibility and environmental stewardship, selected members of the Citizenship Advancement Training (CAT) program from Holy Cross College of Calinan (HCCC) participated in the barangay-wide clean-up drive last Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The initiative, organized by Barangay Calinan Poblacion, was part of the community's preparations for the upcoming Parochial Fiesta of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parishโ€”a celebration that calls for unity and collective effort.

Demonstrating their commitment to community service, several Grade 10 CAT students gathered early along H. P. Garcia Street to clear and clean the area, ensuring that every corner of the place gets thoroughly cleaned.

The school's participation in this activity only reflects its strong vision of nurturing socially responsible youth who actively contribute to the welfare and betterment of the community.

The institution expresses its gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the clean-up initiative and looks forward to engaging in similar community-centered activities in the future.

After a five-year pause due to the pandemic, Holy Cross College of Calinan (HCCC) proudly brought back its highly anticipated Nutrition Month celebration, marking a renewed commitment to promoting health and wellness within the school community.

Spearheaded by the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Area and the School Clinic, the event officially kicked off last July 7 at the HCCC Covered Court, following the theme: โ€œSa PPAN (Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition): Sama-Sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat,โ€ underscoring the collective effort needed to achieve proper nutrition for every Filipino.

Mrs. Jessica Rabang, the TLE Coordinator, underscored the importance of the celebration, denoting: โ€œHealth is truly our greatest assetโ€”and this is our chance to renew our commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle among students, educators, and the entire community.โ€

Bringing color and cheer to the program, Kindergarten pupils delighted the audience with an energetic dance performance to the tune of โ€œMakulay ang Buhay,โ€ charmingly promoting healthy eating habits among young children.

Adding depth to the program, the school invited Ms. Inez Jasmir Santos, a Nutrition Officer with 23 years of experience, who spoke about the purpose and significance of the celebration.

โ€œThis yearโ€™s Nutrition Month campaign reminds us that healthy eating habits should not be viewed as a luxury, but as a necessity and a human right for every Filipino family," she shared.

The opening program concluded with the announcement of a series of month-long activities lined up for various departmentsโ€”setting the stage for an engaging, informative, and community-driven celebration of nutrition, health, and well-being at HCCC.

Spearheaded by the Student Executive Council (SEC), the training aims to equip the schoolโ€™s key student leaders with a deeper understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and potential to lead positive change within their classrooms.

โ€œBefore one becomes a great leader, he or she must first become a great follower,โ€œ said keynote speaker, Ms. Rialyn V. Baguio, as she reminds the students the importance of being disciplined in their journey.

This session marks the beginning of a series of workshops lined up by the SEC in celebration of a month dedicated to leadership and service.
