The College of Medical Technology officially geared up to start the journey into a new academic year with "๐๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ: ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐
๐ค๐ช๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฉ๐จ ๐๐ค๐ฌ!", an orientation program that brought together the college in a spirited celebration of community and purpose. Held on ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ญ๐ฎ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ at ๐ฏ:๐ฎ๐ฐ ๐ฃ๐ , at the College Building's ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ, the event marked and symbolized the start of the shared journey towards excellence. With the hall filled with beating hearts for healthcare, the program set the stage for students to embrace their roles as future Medical Technologists.
The program, organized by the ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ป๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ ๐ฆ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐๐ (๐ ๐ง๐ฆ), began with a solemn prayer followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Perpetual Hymn. Serving as the masters of ceremonies were ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐๐ถ๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐ข๐ฟ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐, ๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ of ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ณ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฟ๐, and ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ก๐ฒ๐ถ๐น ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฏ๐ฎ๐, ๐๐
๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฟ, who guided the flow of the program.
To start, ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐ต ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ด๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ, ๐ฅ๐ ๐ง, ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฃ๐, ๐ฃ๐ต๐ delivered her opening remarks, welcoming the students with the words, "๐๐๐๐ช๐๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ง๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ค๐ฃ ๐ฃ๐ M๐๐๐๐๐๐ก T๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ค๐ก๐ค๐๐๐จ๐ฉ๐จ!". Subsequently, she introduced the faculty and staff of the college, as well as the courses that they will be handling. Following this, Dean Baragona explained department policies and international mobilization, including retention rules, grading systems, and the academic curriculumโessential guidelines for students to know by heart.
To lighten up the atmosphere, the MTS conducted an ice breaker that kept students engaged before returning to the academic discussions with a game of Hep-Hep Hooray with a twist. Winners were then awarded and participants received tokens for participation.
Not long after, ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐น๐๐ถ๐ป ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ, ๐ฅ๐ ๐ง briefly discussed Research in Medical Laboratory Science and Ethics, emphasizing the importance of the academic calendar for third-year students. It involves the parts of research, the required manual, agreements, as well as the outlines of activities that students must follow in order to meet the requirements on time. As the talk continued, Dean Baragona was also called to further discuss the research ethics committee.
Afterward, ๐ ๐. ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ต๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ, ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป of the ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ป๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐-๐ฆ๐ผ๐๐๐ต ๐๐๐๐ผ๐ป, introduced PHISMETS, the committees, and its past and upcoming events, as well as the opportunities the organization can offer, encouraging students to participate in the organization.
The next part of the program featured presentations from various organizations within the college. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ข๐๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ผ๐๐, or ๐ ๐ข๐๐๐๐ opened the second half of the program with an intermission number that drew loud cheers from the audience. Following their performance, the group's president, ๐ ๐. ๐๐๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐น๐น๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ, spoke about their legacy, history as a competing group, and invited students to audition. Furthermore, ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฅ๐ต๐ผ๐ถ๐ ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฎ๐, ๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ฟ-๐ถ๐ป-๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฒ๐ณ of ๐ฉ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฃ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ถ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด, then introduced the official publication of the College of Medical Technology and announced the ongoing application period. He also reminded students that experience is not a requirement to join, as Vector welcomes beginners to nurture their skills and discover their talents in journalism.
Proceeding to the next performance, ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ members ๐๐ฎ๐ต๐น๐ฒ๐ฏ ๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ด๐ฎ๐น and ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ serenaded the crowd with renditions of ๐๐น๐บ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ป๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต ๐๐ฎ ๐ผ๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐จ and ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ด ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ด ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ต๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฎ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ก. The audience responded by raising their phones with flashlights on, accompanied by loud cheers.

Finally, the orientation concluded with the most-awaited announcement of academic achievers and the awarding of Dean's Listers from the previous academic year presented by Dean Baragona. To conclude the event, the program's closing remarks were delivered by Ms. Viรฑola, who thanked the community for its active participation and emphasized the success of the program in welcoming new students and strengthening the MedTech journey.
As the curtains closed, the College of Medical Technology did not just finish an eventful orientation. With policies laid out, organizations introduced, and achievements celebrated, the program became more than a welcome, it was a starting point for future medical technologists to rise, react, and redefine their role as catalysts in healthcare.
