We arrive in Osaka and head to the Kirby Cafe branch in Shinsaibashi district. We eat all the Osaka exclusive menu items from Okonomiyaki Burgers to Waddle Dee’s special drinks 🍹! Then we shop at the Pokemon Center Osaka DX!

We stay one night at Nishimuraya Honkan in the hot spring town of Kinosaki! We explore the town with our Kinosaki Must Visits Pass, eat a wonderful Kaiseki dinner filled with Matsuba Crab & Tajima Beef, and onsen hop to different baths ♨️

We head out to a local Japanese grocery store chain 🛒 in Kyoto and cook ourselves a nice meal back at our machiya! Afterwards, we head to a local izakaya to enjoy some late night kushikatsu skewer bites 🍢!

We have a packed day as we explore the neighborhoods in Kyoto. We hunt for matcha (during the matcha shortage) and try Ichiran Ramen. We also found a sushi lunch spot along the Kamo River. Finally, we stop by Nintendo & Pokemon Center Kyoto to see if they have exclusive merch.

We head to Kyoto’s Gion district to dine at Tempura Endo Yasaka (West). It was an 18 course meal filled with handcrafted tempura pieces! This ended up becoming one of our favorite meals of all time 🍤

We visit Fushimi Inari in Kyoto and walk around the nearby streets. We try some street food from food trucks, eat sakura & matcha soft serve ice cream, and enjoy some nature at the shrine ⛩️.

We visit the Nintendo Museum here in Uji, near Kyoto! It’s been a dream come true of ours to view the vast collection of consoles, accessories & iconic games on display! We play many of the popular interactive exhibits, shop at the exclusive gift store, and do an unboxing of all our blind boxes at the end!

We visit the unofficial Studio Ghibli cafe here in Nagoya! Although it is “unofficial”, the cafe did get recognized by them! We ate all the delicious Miyazaki inspired foods such as Casper’s bacon & eggs from Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro’s straw hat omelette fried rice, Princess Mononoke’s Kodama’s chocolate log and various other inspired drinks!

We visit the Studio Ghibli Park in Nagoya, which was one of our top bucket list items on this Japan trip! We adored the iconic set designs of Spirited Away, Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke Village & so much more!

We skip the crowds of Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka and shop at Osu Shotengai here in Nagoya! From video game hunting to Daiso & Don Quijote to Pokemon Center, they have it all 🛍️! We end with eating at the the flagship store of Misokatsu Yabaton 🐷!

We head off to to see the amazing recreations of iconic Japanese architecture and landscapes! Miniland featured so many cities that we’re planning to visit on this trip. It’s such an underrated theme park in Nagoya! Would highly recommend visiting if you’re also a Lego fan!

We grab some bentos and ride the bullet train from Tokyo Station to Nagoya, and do a review of the .nagoya hotel 🏨! We also experience Nagoya’s “Morning” cafe culture, where you get a free breakfast item 🍞 when you buy a drink ☕️!
