This evening makes 8 years since David's murder. Extra difficult and unreasonably stressful. May God be with us all.

Thank you for your thoughts, messages and prayers. A friend gave us some blue lights which I think I will hang up.

The murderers' appeal is ongoing and is at some sort of stay in an attempt to use an appeal from a case in the 80's. We had a judge who was extremely careful and took as much into consideration as possible, to include sentencing. Gonna be a long stretch on whatever they think might have a chance. Pretty pathetic and disgraceful.

Dear David, we love you and miss you with all of our hearts. We miss you everyday. Today, Nov 13, reminds us of the pain you endured at the hands of four evil, deranged, angry and stupid bad actors. Today is when our loss started: 19 days of searching. On Dec 2, the troopers found your body. They had our DNA, which would confirm it was you; but, they all knew. We would all know.

We thank God for the time He gave us with you.

We thank all of you who have traveled with us on the journey of heartbreak in one form or another.

The colors pop. I added the blue a few weeks back. It is pretty windy, so you have to stick the flowers in the ground.

This November will make eight years since the brutal assault, kidnapping and murder of David.

As people have been moving out and moving into Alaska, it seems best to refer people to "google" David Grunwald if they want to know about what happened.

I really appreciate when people message me with information regarding AK appeals that they hope won't affect the convictions of David's murderers. Information is valuable.

I also appreciate the messages about visiting David's graveside at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery - pictures are a plus. Linda, a young murder victim is nearby to David's site. Sherry, her mom and I usually visit each David & Linda. Linda's story: https://victimsforjustice.org/victim-voices/in-memory-of-linda-anne-martz-bower/

People send me messages about podcasts and references to David's case. Some are ridiculous and one I have not listened to because my Trooper advised against it. Some of the info is spot on and some is way off. We appreciate all of the info!

There is a fellow who lives near the trail to the spot where David was murdered; each summer he trims the trail of the fallen trees and overgrowth. We all appreciate his work so very much, too.

Meeting people who tell me they followed the case and everything that happened and/or they were out there searching, or helping in some way and I get that heartfelt hug - I thank you.

It gets tough this time of year with knowing what's coming.

Looks like I need to add some color. The items that had here for so long are gone.

Marker is still there on the trail where David was shot on Knick River Rd, 7.4 mile. Dogwood flowers frame it right now.

"Where do I know you from?"
"You look familiar."
"May I give you a hug?"
"I pray for you."

Depending on how the conversation starts or how it goes, I think, "...thank you for remembering David."

I especially like it when people say David's name. I sometimes ask the young people in our area where they went to high school and when did they graduate to get an idea if they may have known or knew about David. A few of David's friends might check in with us - yes, it is a wonderful gesture - even on social media - for you and us.

And for those who have donated to Solid Rock Bible Camp, thank you!
