My husband first saw me in church on a Wednesday. By Thursday, we were already sitting together during service, and after church, we went out to eat fish.
Then came Friday.
Out of nowhere, he asked me, “What style of wedding gown do you like—A-line or ball gown?” I said A-line. He immediately replied, “Start looking for the style and also a designer.”
I just looked at him in shock.
In my mind, I was like, “You must be joking. Please don’t use this one to whine me—I’ve seen enough of that already.”
The next thing he asked was, “Exactly where are you from in Abia State? I want to see your people.”
I said, “Oga, please calm down you barely know me.”
But he replied, “I am serious.”
Anyone who knows my husband knows he is very straightforward and doesn’t joke with important matters.
Immediately, I messaged my sister. She was just as shocked. is it even possible to meet a man and get a proposal in three days?
But one thing made me believe him: God had already told me how my husband would come before he even appeared.
God used the story of the wedding at Cana in Galilee to show me how it would happen. I had read that passage before, but never in that light. That was when I truly realized how deep the Word of God is the more you think you understand it, the more you discover there’s so much more.
That revelation has sustained me, even in marriage. Anytime there’s any small issue, I just go back to God like, “Lord, na You send me here, na You tell me to come please handle this.” And just like that, He steps in and settles it.
Honestly, I, Sarah Abraham Ajamazi, will choose God over and over again.
