A noteworthy incident on Interstate 4 led to the seizure of around 4 kilograms of M**A and other illicit drugs.

Deputies responded Friday night to a disabled vehicle along the westbound side of I-4 near mile marker 107. The passenger, identified as Carey Thomas Crownover, 30, of DeLand, was reportedly causing a disturbance inside the vehicle, kicking the windshield and behaving erratically.

When Deputy Graham arrived and attempted to intervene, Crownover kicked the deputy and resisted arrest before eventually being subdued and taken into custody.

Inside the vehicle, deputies discovered 1,426 grams of M**A, 1,016 grams of amphetamines, 4 grams of ketamine, and a quantity of cannabis.

A follow-up search of Crownover's residence in DeLand uncovered additional trafficking quantities of drugs, including 2,516 grams of M**A, 363 grams of co***ne, 1,000 grams of psilocybin, and 510 grams of amphetamines. Other drugs recovered included alprazolam, 2C, L*D, and more cannabis.

Detectives also seized 11 fi****ms, one of which had been reported stolen in Lake County.

The Oklahoma City Police Department is currently investigating a use of force incident involving one of its officers. Today, we are releasing video footage related to the case.

The incident took place on October 27, 2024, during a traffic collision investigation. While responding to the situation, the officer used force, resulting in serious injuries to an elderly man that required hospitalization. The officer was placed on administrative leave, and an investigation was launched immediately. The case is still under review and will soon be presented to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office.

Our department is committed to transparency and accountability, and we want our community to be aware that this case is receiving a thorough investigation. We ask for patience as we work through the review process to ensure a complete and fair outcome.
