the story behind **deliberate mama** 👇🏻
Four years ago, I stepped into this space with one simple goal: to become a stay-at-home mom.
I started an online business that allowed me to fully retire from the dental field and finally become what I had always dreamed of… a stay-at-home mama.
But somewhere along the way, I lost sight of the very thing I had fought so hard for.
I got caught up in income goals, hustle culture, and personal development. I became consumed with progress—and forgot about presence. I was on autopilot, annoyed by every meltdown, every sibling fight, every moment of noise and chaos. I didn’t truly cherish my days with my little ones. And that’s something I carry now—deep regret for wishing away those sacred early years.
Then, nearly two years ago, life shattered.
I lost someone I loved dearly—not to illness or natural causes, but to something so senseless and tragic, it still doesn’t feel real. My Gram, my favorite person growing up, was taken from us in a domestic violence incident while trying to protect her sister. They both lost their lives.
In the middle of the heartbreak, I found strength—in my faith, in my family, and most unexpectedly, in the grace of my children. They were by my side through it all. Laughing. Loving. Bringing joy into my darkest moments. And it hit me:
THIS. Right here. Right now. This is what matters.
Not the house. Not the car. Not the numbers in your bank account. And certainly not the constant pressure to keep up with everyone else.
I started Deliberate Mama to live more intentionally—because we only get one shot at this life, and I don’t want to miss it.
I share this because I’ve lived it and felt the pain of missing presence. Especially on hard days, we need to remember life is fragile, fleeting, and deserves our full attention.
You don’t get these moments back. You can’t rewind time. All you can do is be where your feet are—right here, in the messy, beautiful now.
Deliberate Mama is about taking intentional steps every day—in marriage, parenting, wellness, and dreams. It’s about making core memories and saying yes to the moments that matter.
It’s also about being real—sharing the growth, mess, fights, forgiveness, and everything in between.
