✨ Help Wanted ✨

I've had a lot of informal conversations with different people about this, but I'll be honest - it's overwhelmed me, especially the lack of stability, and I can't keep track so I'm going to do this slightly more formally.

I'm looking for someone to help me with social media so I can get some space to deal with some personal stuff. This means I require someone both reliable and consistent until January at least.

You'd be making and writing copy for one post per day, and working on our Advent Calendar for 2025 so that we can post in advance and aren't stressed in December, which tends to be our busiest month.

There is a potential to make this longer term if you enjoy it. There is also potential for paid work in the future.

If you think you can step up and help us keep the wheels turning until 2026, drop me a line - please don't DM. And I'm sorry if we've already talked before; we've gone viral in the last three weeks and my IG inbox is chaotic.

Please note that I have ADHD, a full time job and am currently in titration so awareness of these things is appreciated.

Our Gemma's in the - and it's a great read all about her Romany heritage and why she chose to talk about it in her poetry collection, 1000 Years.

Gypsy, Romany and Traveller stories are underrepresented in publishing - that's just fact. As always seems to be the case, it's rare to find perspectives that aren't dedicated to sharing trauma or titillating information for marketing clout - and we wanted to change that. Gemma's collection is funny but also tender; it sits deep in the intersection of her identities, delivered in her inimitable voice.

Happy publication day to Korrin Smith-Whitehouse as Disaffected is officially published!

I've packed and posted a pile of these beauties today after a few keen beans got their hands on copies at Tynemouth Book Fair on Sunday (cheeky...). Those of you who've pre-ordered - keep your eye on your letterboxes in the next few days!

Disaffected is essential reading for anybody working in education, on the fringes of education or who has (or has had) a child, relative or friend in the system as it has existed for the past 20 years. Exploring the system deeply and throwing a lens onto the issues that exist within it, Korrin forces us all to question whether it really is all fit for purpose, and if not - to think about what it is we want to change.

WHAT. A. GLORIOUS. DAY.

I've had an absolute blast with this bunch of awesome people at The Northern Publishers' Fair today.

Sometimes you just need the kind of day that reminds you why everything you do is 100% worth it - and today was that day.

Big love to everyone who showed up, shared stories, bought books and gave me a hug! Love you all.

Special mention to who I finally got to meet and who took this very special photo at the end of the madness.
