Exciting news for Canterbury and Aotearoa's screen industry!

The newly announced international Indigenous co-production Māui & Elvis will bring together Māori and Métis/Cree storytellers in a family adventure series destined for audiences across New Zealand, Canada and beyond.

With much of the story set in Te Waipounamu and featuring Canterbury's dramatic landscapes and the iconic Kaikōura coastline, the series will shine a spotlight on the places that make our region so special and such an attractive destination for screen productions.

It's fantastic to see a project that not only showcases our region internationally but also celebrates Indigenous languages, cultures and creativity through world-class storytelling.

TWO DOUBLE PASS GIVEAWAYS TO Doc Edge!

There's a Hole in My Bucket screens this Sunday 2 August at the Jack Mann Theatre at University of Canterbury Kōawa Studios.

When Royd Tolkien's brother Mike died of motor neurone disease, he left Royd a secret bucket list of 50 challenges. Did Royd get through all of them? You'll have to watch to find out.

Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, with other special friends from Middle Earth along for the ride.

Producer Belindalee Hope will be there for a live Q&A, and three Bucket List prizes are drawn on the night for people in the room: a double pass to Hobbiton, a double pass to Nevis Bungy, and a guided Fiordland fishing and jet boat trip on the Upper Waiau River with FishJet NZ, with Ken, who appears in the film.
