P. V. Jagadish Kumar, popularly known as Jagadish, is an Indian actor, screenwriter, and television presenter who has appeared in over 400 Malayalam films and a couple of Hindi films. Widely recognized for his comic and character roles, he also enjoyed a successful stint as a lead actor in more than 50 films during the 1990s, making him one of the most bankable stars of that era. A postgraduate rank-holder in M.Com., Jagadish began his career as a bank officer and later worked as a college lecturer before entering the film industry. He made his debut in My Dear Kuttichathan (1984), India’s first 3D film, and rose to fame with his iconic portrayal of Appukuttan in In Harihar Nagar (1990). His notable works include Godfather (1991), Mimics Parade (1991), Welcome to Kodaikanal (1992), Thiruthalvaadi (1992), Sthreedhanam (1993), Hi**er (1996), and Junior Mandrake (1997). In addition to acting, he has written scripts like Adhipan (1989). Venturing into politics in 2016, Jagadish contested for the Pathanapuram constituency as an Indian National Congress candidate but was unsuccessful.
