Week 35/52 📸

This week was full — days stacked with back-to-back meetings, sometimes in the city, sometimes tucked into a corner of the library where I turned Zoom calls into my makeshift office.

In between the rush, I found myself slowing down in little ways. Walking the waterfront. Letting the blue skies of August linger just a little longer before they fade into fall. Watching a quiet dock filled with birds, and breathing in the beauty of mountains, water, and seaplanes moving across the horizon.

There was comfort too — dim sum at home with my daughter, laughter and beautiful conversations over sesame balls and siu mai. And joy — celebrating Mikhaela’s dream come alive .ca , filling my hands with a bouquet I made myself, and my heart with the reminder that growth always blooms from courage. 🌸

I’ve been reminding myself that taking care of my mental health doesn’t always look like rest — sometimes it’s movement. Walking while memorizing dialogue for acting class. Saying yes to self-tapes. Letting each step remind me I can hold both pace and pause at the same time.

Even in the busiest weeks, there are moments that catch you off guard with their beauty — when you let yourself notice. ✨

✨ Honored to share some incredible news! ✨

From Berlin to Cannes, Kia Soundscapes has officially won a Bronze Lion in Digital Craft at the 2025 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 🦁🎉.

This project holds a special place in my heart — not only for its innovation but for its commitment to inclusivity. Alongside my friend Danny Kean , I had the privilege of bringing my lived experience as a blind storyteller into this journey, helping .worldwide and reimagine travel through sound.

Soundscapes reminds us that accessibility is not an afterthought — it’s a gateway to richer, more connected experiences for everyone.

Thank you for having me be a part of this incredible project: .worldwide , Colomar .eu and represented by Brandi ❤️

Week 34/52 📸

This week started with something truly special — a photoshoot for Stephanie Cadieux, Canada’s Chief Accessibility Officer ( ) for her annual report. Too often, we only hear the negatives when it comes to accessibility. But it’s also important to pause, acknowledge progress, and celebrate how far we’ve come. Listening, learning, and helping to shift the narrative is something I hold close.

I also filmed a self-tape audition. Whether or not it moves forward, every experience is a chance to grow, learn, and stretch myself beyond comfort. Representation and diversity matter, and I’ve learned to bring my own red carpet — something I’ll be sharing more in my keynote at Inspire & Awaken

This week also had lighter moments — like a cheeky “driving with my cane” golf cart photo 🚗😉 — and meaningful ones, as part of SALT (Surrey Accessibility Leadership Team). We walked the paths of The Glades Woodland Garden, offering lived experience on accessibility.

Sprinkled in between: the best conversation with an Uber driver, the rhythms of acting class (“Let the character live. Live the character.” A reminder for life itself), and my everyday transit journeys through the city — where accessibility isn’t abstract, but lived.

Here’s to another week of showing up, shifting narratives, and finding beauty in the details. ✨

Week 33/52 📸

This week was a quiet one, but filled with steady steps forward. ✨

Behind the scenes, I’ve been writing talks for upcoming .partenairesante events as a volunteer impact speaker for workplace giving. My charity is CNIB. I’m also building my keynote for The Inspire & Awaken Summit 2025 happening Oct 17–18 at . The theme? - and I can’t wait to share.

🎭 Acting classes have been a highlight - scene study, character work, and the joy of a supportive cohort who truly lift each other up.

🩺 In between, life reminds me to stay grounded: diabetes check-ins, navigating transit solo with my glasses, and carving out time for counseling and small personal goals.

🌸 And of course, moments of stillness - bees buzzing around the garden, a tomato growing on the vine, fresh blooms, and fresh nails. Sometimes progress looks like these little reminders of life’s beauty.

Here’s to the quiet weeks that keep us rooted while we grow. 🌱

Week 32/52 📸

This week felt like a collage of celebrations, milestones, and little moments worth holding close. ❤️

🎂 Birthdays — mine, family members’, and even our wedding anniversary. There was cake, candles, and sweet wishes that wrapped around me like a hug.

💆🏻‍♀️ Spa time with my daughters at — tea in hand, birthday wishes and wrapped in the softest blanket — a reminder that self-care is also about shared laughter and slowing down together.

🍣 An unforgettable birthday dinner at — scallops glistening under delicate roe, sushi rolls dressed like art, and a dessert that came with its own little flame of joy.

🍦 A sunny afternoon with — gelato cheers on a bustling city street, red-and-white umbrellas above and the hum of conversations all around.

🪞 Wandering through , smiling back at a mirror that told me “Damn, Vancouver Looks Good On You.”

🎭 I took my first steps into acting classes at Vancouver Film School — From Script to Screen — surrounded by classmates who radiate talent and kindness.

🌅 Capping it all off with a waterfront sunset — Canada Place sails catching the evening glow, cranes stretching toward the mountains, and the city exhaling into night.

Behind the scenes, I kept my mental health appointments, stayed on top of my medications, and began preparing for my October keynote. Because the moments we share on the outside are made possible by the quiet work we do within.

Here’s to another week of showing up — for the celebrations, for the dreams, and for myself. ✨

Big or small, every celebration leaves a thread in the fabric of our lives — what’s one moment you’re celebrating right now?

27 years married. 27 years of becoming. ❤️

There are moments in a marriage that shape you. Some are soft and golden. Others arrive like thunder in the night.

One January evening changed everything for us.

In a split second, I stepped into a new role I never saw coming. One that tested the strength of our vows, the depth of our love, and the meaning of resilience. And years later, we would trade roles once again.

Love isn’t always poetic. Sometimes, it’s gritty and hard-won.
But in the unraveling… we found our way back to each other.

🦯 To anyone walking through the unexpected—
You’re not alone. The journey is heavy at times, but so is love. And it can hold the weight.

I share more of this chapter of our life - and what it taught me - inside “Resilience and Purpose - Discovering Strength and Connection in Life’s Cracks”. It’s not just our story. It’s for anyone learning how to begin again when life doesn’t go as planned.

📖 You can find it in my bio, all major retailers, or on Amazon.

Happy Anniversary to my husband and life partner. Here’s to love that stays and evolves.

When I first read ‘s words, I had to sit with them.

Not just read them - but feel them.

Because something happens when someone “really” sees you. Not just for the titles or the timelines, but for the truth of your becoming. The quiet resilience. The choice to be visible in a world that often looks away.

This post isn’t just about a keynote. It’s about what it means to take the stage not for applause - but for impact. For every woman who’s ever been told to wait her turn. For every person who’s ever felt unseen in rooms where they were meant to shine.

Ally, thank you for naming what my heart has long carried. For honouring the journey with such reverence and power.

So today, I’m sharing your words. Because they’re not just about me - they’re for anyone who’s ever needed a reminder:

You don’t need permission to take up space.

Here’s what she wrote… ⬇️

Some people wait for permission to be seen.
Anne Mok chose to be visible anyway.

Diagnosed with a rare eye condition that slowly took her sight, Anne could’ve faded into the background.

Instead, she became The Blind Storyteller — a TEDx speaker, author, advocate, and the powerful voice behind .

She shows up for every woman who’s ever felt invisible.
Every leader who’s been underestimated.
Every person who’s been told they don’t fit the mold.

Anne’s message is clear:
You don’t need perfect circumstances to lead.
You don’t need 20/20 vision to see your purpose.
You don’t need permission to take up space.

This October, Anne takes the stage at Inspire & Awaken to share her journey — not as an inspiration story, but as a call to action.

Because representation isn’t a buzzword.
It’s a revolution.
And Anne Mok is leading it.

Week 31/52 📸

This week was quiet. I didn’t take many photos — I let myself be. Present. Intentional. Softly held by August’s slower pace.

August is when our family celebrates birthdays, milestones, and meaningful moments. So I slowed down. Tended to the garden. Unboxed joy. Savoured solo meals. And welcomed surprise visitors — including the sweetest Cavapoo with caramel curls and big curious eyes. She wasn’t mine, but she brought so much delight.

🦯 I travelled independently — bus pass and white cane in hand. A quiet act of freedom and everyday confidence.

🍲 Took myself out for a solo lunch: crispy chicken karaage on rice, miso soup, and a sweet milky drink. Comfort food for the soul.

🌼 Paused to admire blooming hydrangeas in full summer glow — their creamy petals soaking up the light.

🎁 Opened my outside, sun on my shoulders and gratitude in my chest.

🍰 Ended the week with the dreamiest ube sans rival mini cake from — cashew crunch, chiffon softness, and a flavour that lingered like a memory.

🐾 And of course, spent time with a four-legged friend who reminded me how joy often comes in small, unexpected packages.

Sometimes it’s not the number of photos you take — it’s the feeling that lives in between them.

Week 30/52 📸

This week was full of grounding moments — ones that reminded me to pause, breathe, and take care of what truly matters.

🎧 I wrapped up my last voice acting class, where we practiced commercial scripts in a professional recording studio. This creative space has become one of my favorite places to just “be” — fully present, expressive, and empowered. Thank you to our incredible instructors and .voice for your encouragement and guidance!

🌸 In my garden, the lilies have blossomed! Their soft pink petals curling outward like they’re stretching toward the sun. Nature continues to show me that growth is quiet, but oh-so-powerful!

🍲 I treated myself to “comfort food” this week — Vietnamese pho and salmon sashimi donburi — warm, nourishing meals that fed more than just my body.

💅 I continued my self-care rituals with a fresh pink manicure and moments in the garden, hands resting among Japanese anemones and blossoms reminding me to bloom too.

👩🏻‍🦯 A walk through Vancouver’s Gastown brought me to the steam clock, where I snapped a photo of everyone looking up, waiting. A little metaphor, perhaps, for how life asks us to wait and wonder sometimes.

💉On the health front, I started insulin treatment this week. My diabetes has been out of control despite medication, and my specialist and I decided insulin was the next step. It’s been a hard pill to swallow — or in this case, a needle to accept — but I’m trusting the process. The goal is 6 months to stabilize and reset. I’m grateful that my mental health has been steady enough to give me the strength and clarity to take this step.

📲 I also continued content creation, advocacy, and catching up on my commitments — remembering that creating inclusive, accessible content matters more than ever.

✨ Week by week, I’m finding my rhythm again. A little more balance. A little more breath. A little more me.

Still pinching myself ✨ I was recently featured on LinkedIn by in the global campaign - highlighting my journey as a blind traveler and storyteller who navigates the world through music, movement, and meaning.

Living with vision loss, I rely on sound, texture, and space to explore my surroundings - and this project gave me the chance to share what movement and music feel like through my lens. 🎶

This feature feels even more meaningful today, on the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), during Disability Pride Month - a time to recognize the value, power, and creativity of disabled voices around the world.

Being part of this campaign with .worldwide and filming in Chile was unforgettable. I’m proud to show that accessibility and representation matter, and that disabled creators belong in every space - online, on screen, and on the road.

To every disabled storyteller: your voice is powerful just as it is. ❤️

This opportunity wouldn’t have been possible without the belief and support of my incredible talent agent Brandi . Thank you for championing my voice, my story, and the power of accessible storytelling on a global stage. 🎬

💡 Shoutout to the incredible team who made this accessible and empowering.

Week 29/52 📸

This week, I saw the specialist my ophthalmologist referred me to after a dramatic decline in my vision six weeks ago. That loss had hit me really hard mentally and emotionally. I fell into a deep depression. I felt like I was drowning.

But this week… something shifted.

The specialist was kind, insightful and, most of all, she gave me something I hadn’t felt in a while: ✨hope ✨

Instead of focusing on what I’ve lost, she helped me see what I still “have” and how to use it better. She suggested a custom prescription for my remaining usable vision at computer distance, along with purple tinted lenses to help reduce eye strain and improve contrast.

We’re trying everything we can.
I’m also in counseling and doing cognitive behavioral therapy. Slowly, I’m rising again. I no longer feel like I’m drowning.

And with that slow rise, this week brought:
🎬 Self-tapes and studio time for voice acting lessons (learning new software like Ableton - challenging with low vision but I’m learning!)
🌸 A moment to breathe in the garden’s blooms.
🧄 Harvesting fresh garlic. Small wins, big smiles.
✂️ A little hair & lash refresh to feel more like me again.
👩🏻‍🦯 And commuting through my city, white cane in hand, feeling strong again.

✨ New here? I’m Anne - a blind storyteller, TEDx speaker, disability advocate, and content creator in Vancouver, BC. I share my world through accessible storytelling to help bridge the gap between the sighted and blind community.

Thanks for walking with me. ❤️
