Currently there are around 370 sets of elves minted, many of them with 3 or 4 elves. At a rough guesstimate this means ~1000 elves have a match. Many more matches have yet to be minted. Sets are created by owning matching elves and sets will be needed for staking.

How do I buy a Xmas elf nft?
~Ninety-nine percent of nfts are traded for cryptocurrency. You can purchase XmasElves nfts with Songbird (SGB) tokens but we've also added an option to our website for you to purchase our nfts with a credit or debit card. *NOTE* You will have to create a wallet first to store your nfts. We explain how to do this on https://xmaselvesnfts.com/how-to-buy page. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes. Once you have a wallet you can store all your nfts and your SGB tokens in it. (We will send you 1 SGB token as a gift in case you want to sell or transfer your nfts). If you purchase with a credit card then one day you may want to withdraw your SGB tokens and exchange them for cash, unless you wait a couple of years and then you'll be able to use them to shop online. Exchanging them for cash will require an account at an exchange. This is explained on the page link above.

6. Xmas2021Elves is the first in an ongoing series of collections (aka the Genesis collection). A new collection will be released every xmas with the elves doing different xmas activities in each years collection. There will also be a limited edition collection released each July honouring those countries that celebrate xmas in July.

5. About the Xmas Elves collection.
Our collection is basically an aesthetic collection but with one important difference. Remember what we said about trait and attribute rarity? Once a collection is minted (created) that doesn't change. If you're lucky enough to mint a rare nft then it will always be rare and thus more valuable. But if you mint a common nft then it will always be common and not worth much.

Xmas elves are different in that any nft, no matter how common can become more valuable. While rare nfts will always be more valuable than common ones, the value of common nfts as well as rare ones can increase and owners have some control over this.

Xmas elves can be collected in sets of individual elves. Four traits (skin, eyes, mouth & hair) make up an elf.
While other traits and attributes will change with each new xmas collection, the elf traits and attributes will always be the same, which means they will be collectable across different collections.

4. Are all nft collections the same?
Not at all. NFT collections come in all sizes and while most are purely aesthetic, many have different use cases.
Some nfts are used for gaming, some are for use in the metaverse and some are used for staking in order to earn tokens. These uses can be quite complex so we're not getting into that here. Our purpose is to give you a basic understanding and a “foot in the door” so to speak. Once you're comfortable in the nft space you can look into other collections for yourself.

3. Networks
An nft is created on a specific network and is bought and sold using that networks currency. For now most nfts can only be traded on the networks on which they were created.
XmasElves nfts were created on the Songbird network. This network has a lot of potential for growth and it's fees are extremely low. (~.005 cents).
Marketplace websites are places to view, buy and sell nfts built on each network.

Fees are very important because every action involving an nft incurs a fee; buying, selling, transferring, putting on sale, removing from sale, even destroying it (known as burning)!

2. What is an nft art collection?
In it's commonest form an nft art collection is a collection of similar images made up of different traits and attributes. A trait is a part of the image such as background, skin colour, wheels, a held item, a hat – pretty much anything in the picture. Traits in the xmas elves collection include skin colour, eye colour, tunic, and gift.
Each trait is made up of different attributes. A hair trait might be different colours or styles – long, short, ponytail etc. Attributes have different rarities and the rarer the attribute the more value it adds to the nft.
