Amikaso is now open for submissions.
For the winter issue, all works must be submitted by September 14, 2024.
Expect to hear back from us within a weeks or two. If your work is accepted for publication at another review, journal, or magazine, kindly inform us immediately so as to withdraw your submission.
Amikaso accepts submissions solely by email to [email protected]. We accept submissions in five genres: poetry (all genres except lightverse), prose, letters, flash fiction and essays. In your subject line, please title your email as “submission for [genre]”. In your email, please also specify the number of submissions you are presenting for consideration.
Each piece you submit for consideration should be a separate word format with the title “SURNAME, first name; title of work.” Your work should be formatted in Times New Roman, Font size 12. For poetry, prose, and letters we accept 2-6 works; for flash fiction and essays, 1-4 works No written piece can exceed 1,300 words. Though it should go without saying, we would like to reiterate that all works must be original in order to be eligible for submission.
Submissions and emails that do not follow our guidelines will be deleted unread. We ask that you only send one email at a time before you receive a response from us.
Amikaso Library acquires first serial rights and non-exclusive reprint rights, meaning that all authors can reprint their work as they’d like after it’s appeared in the magazine. Because our staff is composed entirely of volunteers, we are unable to compensate contributors for their work.
Amikaso Library will print the magazine only once. Three weeks after the submission deadline, Amikaso will open for pre-orders and publish the book's details here on Facebook.
