Final Fantasy XVI now has a scheduled release date of Summer 2023. The gameplay looks phenomenal and the story seems to revolve around Eikons. Take a look at the trailer on the official Square-Enix YouTube channel.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Rinoa's vocabulary consisted of forming cute words such as oHaro? It was suppose to mean Good morning/Hello put together. As if she couldn't be any cuter already 😆

Happy birthday to Terra Branford! Although, Final Fantasy VI has an ensemble cast, Terra is the predominant character that was used for marketing the game. She was also chosen to represent FFVI in Dissidia Final Fantasy.

Fun fact: During the second arc of the game, it was decided to start the story with Celes as opposed to Terra. This was because the development team wanted to show what Terra had been up to during that time. The development team also felt that it made sense to start with Celes as it flowed better in the story. Do you agree? Seeing as how this game was supposed to be about an ensemble of characters the dev team did not want to put too much importance on Terra. Would the game have felt different if you had started the second arc with Terra?

We said this last year and we will say it again, Final Fantasy VI should get a remake so that we may experience that amazing story in high detail.

Sorry to be extremely late with this one but Final Fantasy V released on October 5th, 1991 for the PlayStation 1 in North America. It came included in the Final Fantasy Anthology compilation alongside Final Fantasy VI. This was the first time FFV was released outside of Japan since it had first been created.

Happy belated birthday (October 7th) to Dr. Aki Ross! Can't believe this movie is now 20 years old.

Fun fact: Dr. Aki Ross qualified as an It Girl by Entertainment Weekly due to her popularity and her realism. The NY Times also wrote an article on her achievement as this was a time when CGI was only just starting to take off and what Square had done was ground breaking.

Happy birthday to Quistis Trepe, a prodigy of Balamb Garden that is smart, assertive, and calm. She's our favorite instructor even if her license was revoked.

Fun fact: Quistis was not in the PlayStation FFVIII Demo and her role of manning the turret in Dollet had been filled by a soldier. She did appear in the PC demo though.

Happy 8th birthday to Final Fantasy XIV. It's amazing to think that this game is now 8 years old and there are no signs of it slowing down. Yoshi P has done an amazing job at keeping this game relevant and fresh. The storylines are energetic and suck you right in.

We wish you many more fruitful years and we can't wait to see what's coming after Endwalker.

Happy birthday to Squall Leonheart! The lion of Balamb Garden.

Fun Fact: Tetsuya Nomura does not know why he decided to add a scar to Squall's face, he just know he wanted something that distinguished the character. So, the scar was there before any history of Squall has been established. It was up to Kazushige Nojima to figure out how he got the scar and that's how we ended up with the fight between Squall and Seifer in the beginning of FFVIII. Tetsuya Nomura directed the intro sequence.

Final Fantasy XIV introduces its new class - the Reaper! A new DPS with a new weapon - the Scythe. The new DPS will not have a required class so players can pick it up and start playing. The character will be starting at level 70 and will be available as long as the player has a level 70 character and the Endwalker expansion.

Happy birthday to Tifa Lockhart! One of the most badass female characters we have ever met.

Fun fact: Tifa was originally just going to be a background character! I think this is enough of a fact to make us all wonder what a FFVII like this would look like. What would it even feel like? Tetsuya Nomura has often joked that he suggested killing off Aerith to "allow him to introduce Tifa to the game." Whatever the true story is, we are happy that Tifa made it to the game as she did. She has inspired many and her new role in the FFVIIR has been very well received. This is no damsel in distress!

Happy birthday to Celes Chere! A Magitek Knight that rose through the ranks to become a general.

Fun fact: Celes was originally made to be a spy that would be conflicted by the people she was supposed to spy on and the empire she served. Yoshinori Kitase is the creator of Celes and he has mentioned that he grew an attachment to her.

We would love to see a rendition of Celes Chere in today's graphics because we believe Final Fantasy VI should get a remake treatment.

Happy birthday, Rinoa Heartilly! You'll look into her eyes and you're going to like her. Of course it works.

Fun Fact: Tetsuya Nomura designed Rinoa to leave an impression with players but instead of designing her as a beauty he opted for cute. Part of her design included "cute" habits which led Kazushige Nojima place Rinoa in the Balamb Garden library when she is not an active party member. As you can see, Rinoa is a bookworm ❤

Bonus Fact: Rinoa's name is a variation (probably) of Riona, which is an Irish Gaelic name that means Pure and Royal.
