We have three updates from Texas today. The state supreme court blocked a Galveston County voting district map, created after the primary; 1.2 million unresponsive Texas voters had their registrations suspended; and seven noncitizens have been charged for illegally voting.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 7-2 September 14 to uphold a lower court, and stop implementation of restrictive new U.S. Postal Service mail-in ballot rules. But three justices signaled openness to additional litigation in coming months.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh September 8th refused the Missouri Secretary of State’s appeal of a state supreme court ruling. It allows a redistricting ballot measure to go forward and a fairer congressional map used in November. But after a tumultuous 48 hours, it may be headed back to SCOTUS.

And in California, after Shasta County announced it hired felony-convicted Mesa County Colorado Clerk Tina Peters to help run its elections, Peters now says she didn’t accept the job.

A U.S. Postal Service whistleblower is warning that the new portal to be used to verify citizenship for mail-in voters, risks “catastrophic failure” and could “derail the midterms.” The accusations were brought forward August 31st by U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal.
