Earlier this month, the Urban Redevelopment Agency of Gwinnett County approved the $11.5 million purchase of the 11.5-acre former Sears site at Gwinnett Place Mall. 🏬

With this acquisition, the Urban Redevelopment Agency and Gwinnett County will own a combined 87.5 acres of the Gwinnett Place Mall site, with plans to redevelop it into a dense, mixed-use hub that is green and walkable, but also preserves the cultural diversity and character of the area. 🌳 🚶

Local Girl Scout Troop 20064 was hard at work this past May, clearing out and cleaning up the old stone labyrinth at Simpsonwood Park. The girls, fifth graders from Simpson, Cornerstone, and other nearby schools, chose the cleanup as their Bronze Award troop project.

In recognition of their hard work and “service to the community … for their efforts to restore the Simpsonwood Park Labyrinth,” the City of Peachtree Corners, Georgia , honored Troop 20064 with an official proclamation on August 26. The proclamation also commended the girls for their commitment to Scouting and congratulated them for earning their Bronze Award.

Join host Rico Figliolini on Peachtree Corners Life as he chats with David Codrea, co-founder of Greenleaf Capital Partners and The Ride Lounge, about turning underused spaces into vibrant community assets—think vacant call centers reborn for pickleball and even premium dog-treat production. David opens up about patient, conservative financing, leadership lessons from adventure (including a goal in hiking all 50 state high points with his daughter), and why The Ride Lounge is a family-friendly car club built on stories, not velvet ropes.
