Gen Z agenda has been hijacked by dark forces

My fellow Gen Zs, I have been keenly following the events unfolding in our country. As we continue to push for a better country, I have realized that some elements seek to push our agenda in the wrong direction for their own selfish reasons. In my own analysis I have arrived at the conclusion that there are three categories of demonstrators.
The first group are the Gen Zs who took to the streets to genuinely push for amendments to the Finance Bill 2024. This group, in which I belong, correctly feel that the series of new and increased taxes are overburdening Kenyans. This group is also of the view that a number of things aren’t going right in this country and must be changed forthwith. These are genuine concerns. We must, however, accept that most if not all of our original demands have been met.
In this first group, there are also Gen Zs, who don’t have a clear understanding of the issues being contested and just joined their colleagues out of peer pressure and the need to belong. Despite not fully fathoming the depth and scope of the challenges the country is grappling with, this group is nevertheless desirous of change. They have stood to be counted on the right side of history. Together we have applied pressure on the President who has accordingly yielded and declared the whole Finance Bill null and void. This is unprecedented in the history of our nation. As Gene Z we have to pat ourselves in the back for our patriotism.
The second group are those paid to protest. Looking at the level of organization of some episodes of picketing, it’s clear there is a hidden hand that the Gen Z aren’t aware of. This group has infiltrated our ranks for selfish reasons. They took advantage of the Gen Z demands to further their personal agenda. When this group realized the power of the Gen Z, they hid in our midst and sought to instigate total rejection of the Finance Bill and more ominously they are now pushing for complete anarchy. This explains why the list of demands is growing every day. They seek to misuse the Gen Z to achieve their own set of goals which do not resonate with what we are fighting for. We must reject them now!
Apparently, the financiers of this group are driving the narrative that these protests should not have a face or a leader. First, their fear is that if the Gen Z have a leader, the government can initiate structured dialogue and conversation with them, potentially resulting in a good deal for us and the whole country. Their other worry is that if the Gen Z appointed their own leaders, it would pose serious threats to their heinous scheme to overthrow the government.
As Gen Z our demands have been largely met and if we continue pressing on with the protests we will be shifting goal posts and losing focus. This will give shadowy forces an opportunity to hijack our agenda. We must reject them now!
It is clear that the demonstration on Tuesday last week and today are mostly driven by organized gangs taking into consideration the scale of destruction, violence and theft perpetrated on business premises. A walk in Nairobi’s CBD and downtown will clearly demonstrate this was not the peaceful demonstrations Gen Z have been championing.
The third group are goons whose sole intention is to foment chaos, confusion and violence, creating an ideal situation for them to loot with abandon. This group acts in a manner that provokes security personnel into confrontation and in the ensuing mayhem, they resort to robbing people as well looting and destroying property. Thieves and goons literally have had a field day and we must never allow this to continue. Because of this lawlessness, many businesses are counting heavy losses. I am certain some of the businesses looted and vandalised belong to Gen Z.
It is evident, therefore, that the Gen Z who had genuine grievances and who had emphasized that protests must be peaceful, have been pushed to the periphery. The protests are now firmly driven by the second and third groups whose intention is to cause anarchy, carry out wanton destruction and ultimately overthrow the government. As Gen Zs we must reject these dark forces who are out to twist our agenda and ride on our unity to burn our country. RejectForcesofAnarchy.
