***STOLEN VEHICLE***

On June 7, 2025, a pickup truck was reported stolen from the 1800 blk of Everett Road. It is believed the truck was stolen sometime between 2100 hours on June 6 and 0400 hours on June 7, 2025.

The pickup truck is a 2010 Chevrolet 2500, blue in color, with VA tag UB87-226, 4 -door with a ladder rack and extra chrome steps and strips.

According to reports, the vehicle was last seen in Roanoke County in the early morning hours of on June 7.

Lynchburg, VA – The juvenile male, connected to this incident, who was previously taken into custody on January 10, has been charged in relation to the Hillcrest Avenue Homicide. He is being held at Lynchburg Regional Juvenile Detention Center on the following charges:

Felony Murder
Aggravated Malicious Wounding
Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
Concealing or Compounding offenses
Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle
Shooting from an Occupied Vehicle
Receiving a Stolen Firearm
Possession of a Firearm Under 21

Lynchburg, VA – The victim, a 16-year-old male juvenile involved in yesterday's shots-fired incident, has passed away. Our condolences are with his family during this difficult time.

We want to assure the community that this was an isolated incident between specific individuals. A person connected to this incident is currently in custody on unrelated charges. This remains an ongoing investigation, and any additional information will be provided as updates to this news release.

LPD Investigates Shots Fired Reported on Hillcrest Avenue

Lynchburg, VA – At approximately 3:40 PM this afternoon, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) received a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Hillcrest Avenue. LPD officers immediately responded to the scene and are actively investigating the incident.

Around the same time, LPD was informed that a juvenile male had arrived at Lynchburg General Hospital with an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. It is currently unclear if these two incidents are connected. The victim is in critical condition.

The Lynchburg Police Department is working diligently to gather information and determine the circumstances surrounding both events.
