Xbox is reportedly introducing monthly cloud gaming limits for some Game Pass subscribers. 👀

Starting in November, users on the £16.99 Ultimate tier could reportedly be limited to up to 15 hours of game streaming per month, with additional playtime available to purchase after the limit is reached.

Different Game Pass tiers are also expected to come with different hourly limits.

With Game Pass reportedly sitting at around 30 million subscribers, the change could impact a significant number of players who rely heavily on Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney says the video game industry is facing its worst downturn since the 1980s, with some experts describing the current situation as “Crash 2.0.”

Speaking to Edge, Sweeney pointed to two major pressures hitting the industry: the enormous cost of developing AAA games and growing competition for hardware components from AI companies and data centers.

“It’s an unexpected, severe disruption.”

According to Sweeney, AI firms and data centers are now competing with the entertainment industry for many of the same components, putting even more pressure on hardware supply and pricing.

“So we’re getting the short end of the stick, and the prices of RAM and storage are quadrupling, and not necessarily stopping there.”

Sweeney believes shortages affecting gaming-related hardware could continue for another three years, potentially making an already difficult period even tougher for developers, publishers and consumers.

The gaming industry has already been dealing with studio closures, layoffs, rising development budgets and increasingly expensive AAA projects, and Sweeney’s comments suggest hardware costs could become another major challenge.

Money could play a much bigger role in GTA 6 than it did in previous games.

A reported system would divide funds into bank cash, carried cash and loot cash. Money stored in the bank would be safe, cash carried by the player could be at risk, and money taken during crimes may need to be laundered or fenced before it becomes usable.

This could give robberies real consequences and make players plan where they keep their money. Rockstar has not officially confirmed these details yet.

GTA VI’s map could be absolutely massive compared to previous Grand Theft Auto games. 🌴

Based on current map estimates, GTA VI’s land mass is around 83.218 km², making it roughly:

• 1.69× bigger than GTA V
• 2.64× bigger than GTA: San Andreas
• 10.3× bigger than GTA IV
• 14.8× bigger than GTA: Vice City
• 19× bigger than GTA III

And that’s just the estimated land mass, not including the surrounding water.

If these estimates are accurate, Vice City and the wider state of Leonida could give us the biggest and most varied GTA world Rockstar has ever created. 🌴🌆

CD Projekt Red now has more than 1,000 developers working across its games and supporting teams.

Current workforce breakdown:

• The Witcher 4 — 519 developers
• Cyberpunk 2 — 184 developers
• The Witcher Sirius — 84 developers
• Hadar, CDPR’s new standalone IP — 33 developers
• Shared Services & Other — 226 developers

That puts the total at 1,046 people across these teams, with The Witcher 4 by far the studio’s largest project.

At a time when layoffs and studio closures have made job security a major concern across the gaming industry, seeing CD Projekt Red maintain and expand development teams at this scale is an impressive milestone.

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition has reportedly been announced, launching October 1.

The new edition is said to include:
• A brand-new story expansion
• A roguelike mode featuring Jin Sakai
• Additional content bundled with the base game

Jin Sakai returning would be a huge crossover between Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yōtei.

More details are expected ahead of the October 1 release.

GTA 6 is shaping up to have a huge variety of activities outside the main story. From basketball, fishing and hunting to street racing, scuba diving, shopping and nightlife, Leonida looks packed with things to do.

Activities confirmed so far include basketball, fishing, hunting, pool, mini golf, MMA/fighting, wrestling, working out at the gym, BASE jumping, scuba diving, shooting ranges, kayaking, street racing, off-road racing, shopping, watching TV, nightclubs and social media activities.

If Rockstar manages to make these activities feel meaningful rather than just small distractions, GTA 6’s open world could end up being one of the most interactive they’ve ever created.

Nexus Mods has acquired SteamDB, one of the most useful tools for tracking Steam games, updates, player counts and database changes.

SteamDB creator xPaw is stepping back after years of largely running the project on his own, explaining that the growing workload eventually led to burnout and that he wanted to find a team he could trust to continue developing the platform.

Under the new ownership, the plan is to bring SteamDB’s detailed game version and update tracking closer together with Nexus Mods’ massive modding ecosystem.

For longtime SteamDB users, the big question now is how much the platform will change under Nexus Mods.

Armored Mewtwo is finally returning to Pokémon GO after being unavailable for six years.

The special version of Mewtwo was last available in 2020 and will return to five-star raids during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale on September 5–6.

For newer and returning players, it’s a rare opportunity to finally add Armored Mewtwo to their collection without relying on trades.

However, not every longtime player is happy.

Some veteran collectors argue that bringing Armored Mewtwo back removes much of the rarity that made the original version special, with one player calling the decision “awful for the game” and saying it makes participating in the original event feel less relevant.

Others strongly disagree, pointing out that Pokémon caught in 2019 or 2020 will still carry their original dates and that allowing more players to obtain Armored Mewtwo reduces the pressure created by FOMO.

The Witcher 4 is already running on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X, even though the game is still years away from release.

CD Projekt Red says the difficult launch of Cyberpunk 2077 completely changed how it develops games. Instead of leaving console optimization until the final stages, the studio is now testing The Witcher 4 across all target platforms much earlier in development.

The team says that if a major issue appears on one platform, development can be paused so it can be fixed before moving forward.

The Witcher 4 is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, and CDPR has already shown the game running at 60 FPS on a base PS5.
