CURFEW DECLARED IN UMUTU AS COMMUNITY BANS CULTISM

The leadership of Umutu Community has announced a curfew that will take effect from 10:00 p.m. daily, as part of decisive measures to curb cult-related activities and restore peace in the area.

According to a community directive, all Umutu indigenes, both young and old, including titled chiefs, are mandated to attend a general meeting at the Palace by 4:00 p.m. today to deliberate on security and community development matters.

In a strong statement issued by the community leadership, cultism and all its related activities have been completely banned within Umutu. The statement further warned that any individual known to be a member of a cult group who has fled the community should not return, as such persons will be arrested and prosecuted upon sighting.

The community also cautioned politicians, influential persons, and stakeholders against interfering in cult-related arrests. It emphasized that anyone attempting to bail or shield an arrested cult member will also be detained, in accordance with directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the State Government, and the Local Government authorities.

The new measures underscore Umutu’s determination to maintain peace, unity, and safety for all residents.
