: Activist Ebo Mili Slams MLA Rode Bui Over Dam Appeal

Daporijo, November 11:
Environmental and human rights activist Ebo Mili has strongly criticized MLA Rode Bui for urging villagers to support the Upper Subansiri Hydropower Project.

In a social media post, Mili accused the MLA of “desperation” and warned project-affected families not to trust political assurances, claiming that “after land assessment, all promises will have zero value.” He also condemned Bui’s remark that the National Highway project would not proceed without villagers’ consent for the dam, calling it a “threat” and asserting that “the highway is not his personal property.”

MLA Rode Bui, in his appeal shared on local WhatsApp groups, said the project would bring “employment, growth, and development” and assured “fair compensation” to all affected families.

The exchange has reignited debates over land rights, displacement, and development in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district.
