My father had a personal connection to Larry Clark’s Kids, the controversial cult classic. He actually grew up with some of the cast, including now famous actress Rosario Dawson. The film was inspired by their real life upbringing in lower Manhattan in the 80s and 90s. This twisted movie about teenagers who spend their time skateboarding, stealing, doing drugs, having s*x, and passing around HIV to each other is my heritage.
