Christianity is not simply about going to church every Sunday, attending worship services, or being part of a Christian community. While gathering together as believers is important, our faith is meant to be lived out beyond the four walls of the church. God has called us not only to receive from Him, but also to bear fruit.
When we encounter Godβs healing, miracles, breakthrough, and transforming power, that is not the end of our journeyβit is only the beginning. Every testimony of what God has done in our lives carries a purpose. What we have received from God is not meant to stop with us. We are blessed so that we can become a blessing. We are restored so that our lives can testify of His goodness. We are saved so that we can point others toward the One who saved us.
God does not want His people to remain spiritually stagnant. He desires growth, transformation, multiplication, and fruitfulness. Jesus calls us to abide in Him and bear fruit that remains. Our lives should increasingly reflect the character of Christβlove, faith, obedience, kindness, holiness, patience, compassion, and a willingness to serve others.
Fruitfulness also means allowing God to work in areas of our lives that need to change. Jesus taught that a fruitful branch is pruned so that it can bear even more fruit. Sometimes, pruning can be uncomfortable. God may remove habits, attitudes, relationships, distractions, or things that keep us from growing closer to Him. But His purpose is not to destroy us; it is to prepare us for greater fruitfulness.
At the same time, Scripture gives us a serious warning about a life that continually refuses to bear fruit. A tree is known by its fruit, and genuine faith is demonstrated through a transformed life. We are not saved by our works, but the life that has truly encountered Christ should produce evidence of that encounter.
We have been entrusted with the Gospel, and we are called to be His witnesses. Our testimony matters. Our words matter. Our actions matter. The way we live can become a testimony to those who are searching for hope, truth, healing, and salvation.
We are living in a time when many people are looking for answers, yet we have been given the greatest message of allβthe good news of Jesus Christ. We cannot keep it to ourselves.
