The EAGLE NEBULA !!
The Universe is really so mysterious also Beautiful
🦅 "The Pillars of Creation: Hubble’s Stunning View of the Eagle Nebula!" 🌌
One of Hubble’s most iconic images, the Pillars of Creation, resides in the heart of the Eagle Nebula (Messier 16)—a breathtaking region of cosmic dust and gas where stars are born.
🔭 What Are the Pillars of Creation?
These towering tendrils of gas and dust stretch 4 to 5 light-years tall and hide newborn stars within their wispy columns.
The blue hues represent oxygen, red is sulfur, and green shows nitrogen and hydrogen, painting a vivid picture of star formation in action.
Ultraviolet light from nearby young stars bathes the pillars, slowly eroding them while triggering the birth of new stars.
✨ Why It’s Fascinating:
This isn’t Hubble’s first look at the Pillars, but it’s the most detailed yet. In infrared light, Hubble pierces through the gas and dust, revealing hidden young stars and countless background stars that were invisible in visible wavelengths.
🌌 Fun Facts About the Eagle Nebula:
Located 7,000 light-years away in the constellation Serpens.
Discovered in 1745 by Swiss astronomer Jean-Philippe Loys de Chéseaux.
Best viewed during August, though spotting the Pillars requires a large telescope and ideal conditions.
