Stormie | Rossemma Thunderskies of Lilyshire ran in the Novice A/V Spaniel Trial at Manton, Lincolnshire on the 5th December 2024.
The ground was bracken / bramble her first run two loose birds flushed and both were shot by the guns, the dog on the other side retrieved one and then Stormie was walked over and sent for the second, on her way to the retrieve a hen flushed to the side of her, I stopped and pushed her back she held the area hunting for the pricked bird and had a contact flush in the bracken, watched it away and carried on hunting her and she found and retrieved the c**k bird. She was asked to hunt on for a short while and then that was her first run done.
Her second run we hunted more bracken, getting under the cover ensuring no game was missed, we moved across the woodland to some new ground and only a few seconds into hunting the new ground I hunted her towards a mound of bracken and saw her expression change and I knew there was likely a bird tucked in it. She had a contact flush with another c**k bird which was shot 15 yards or so in front, sent for the retrieve which was successful and that was her second run done.
I am pleased to say after only her third trial she came away with 1st place and is now officially FTW Rossemma Thunderskies of Lilyshire 🏆✨
