Happy 19th Birthday, Ayd!

Missing Ash who had to book in slightly earlier today. At least we all enjoyed a round of hot pot buffet lunch together 😍

From BBT runs to BMT drills, Ayd’s 19th year came with early enlistment (no thanks to BMI🙃) - 19 weeks of “premium” BMT, but he still surprised us all by passing his IPPT before POP. He’s more grown-up now… even occasionally coaches his mummy through Excel.

Still, some things never change – like the late-night gaming and weekend snack raids. Swipe left for the full proud, funny, and slightly sappy story.

No one has all the answers in parenting... but when we share openly, we all walk away a little wiser.

Humbled to be part of the Pung-goal Setting for Parents panel with DPM Gan and fellow parents Felicia and Huijing from MoneyOwl. We tackled parenting questions -from raising resilient kids to handling screen time - and what really stood out was the honest, candid sharing (especially from DPM!).

There’s no one right way to parent, because no two kids or families are the same. But we’re all in this with the same hope: to raise happy, grounded children who thrive.

Thanks to MoneyOwl and REACH for having me. I walked away with new perspectives, a few laughs, and lots of reassurance. I hope everyone who joined us did too.

Ash is back home this weekend. On Friday, the wifey and I visited his camp for a parents’ session and we finally got to see what he’s been going through these past 3 weeks. The training is tough (and it'll get tougher, no doubt), but hearing it all made us so proud.

The boys in his section then stood up one by one to introduce themselves and say a few words of appreciation to their parents. Simple speeches, nothing flashy — but you could feel the sincerity. Some were shy, some stumbled, but every single one of them spoke from the heart.

Like every other parent there, we nodded a little too enthusiastically, clapped a little too hard… just trying to hold on to the moment a little longer 😅.

They’re still our boys — just with shaved heads, stronger backs, and bigger hearts... and well on their way to being men.

Second COMPASS meeting of the year and we welcomed MOE's new Minister of State as the new Chairperson.

Last year, my team of 4 piloted the 5 Love Language workshop last year so if you had attended one in your kid's school, thank you for the support! 🙏

But the work is never done! That’s why in the year ahead, the council will be rolling out new initiatives to support one another as a community.

Whether it’s finding strength through peer support for parents of children with special educational needs (SEN), exchanging tips on building strong parent-child bonds and screen-time habits, or exploring how we can guide our kids safely through the digital world — we’re here to learn with you. We’re also starting heartfelt podcast conversations on topics like early childhood, school transitions, and inclusion. And together with Self-Help Groups, we’re shining a light on mental well-being for our children.

No one has all the answers — but together, we can support one another every step of the way. 💪

Ash is home for the weekend after two weeks in camp — and just like that, the house feels whole again ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Everyone, even the grandparents, gathered for a meal. Nothing fancy, just good food and familiar noise. It’s amazing how one person back at the table can make everything feel like home again.

Time to re-stock the fridge! 😅

From BB to BB.

That’s Boys’ Brigade to Botak Brothers. 🤣

Same boys, but new battles. Taken just before Ash enlisted… so proud of these two, but I still miss laying out 5 plates at dinner 🥺
