Heat Advisory issued June 20 at 3:22PM EDT until June 22 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI

* WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 102

expected. For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions

with heat index values up to 105 possible.

* WHERE...All of southeast Michigan.

* WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from 2 PM Saturday to 8 AM EDT

Sunday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Sunday morning through

Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during

extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high

humidity may cause heat illnesses

Another day, another awesome experience with a local Chelsea business. Kudos to Palmer Auto Service for the terrific "care and feeding" of my van, Aidan's dogmobile. Everyone there is super friendly, very knowledgeable and they go above and beyond to make sure I feel safe driving it on the roads. Highly recommend.

Wind Advisory issued April 29 at 3:33AM EDT until April 29 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph

expected.

* WHERE...Southeast Michigan.

* WHEN...From 9 AM this morning to 6 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree

limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result

Sylvan Township folks: On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will have lane restrictions on Old US-12 between Fahrner Rd and Chelsea City limits in Sylvan Township for installation on High Friction Surface.

The road will not be closed to traffic, but delays are likely due to lane restrictions. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.

This work is expected to take approximately three days to complete. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

Thank you, Chelsea Police Department, for helping these scent dogs improve their skills.

The Chelsea Police Department was kind enough to allow a group of scent work dogs and handlers to practice searches in the building last month. In addition to those who were searching for essential oil scents for AKC competitions, there were three actual working dogs – dogs that were training…

Attending the annual ag banquet and talking to all the local people who are involved in agriculture is always a learning experience for me. I meet so many wonderful folks. And pick their brains to improve my garden. (Hey Barb S. can't wait to attempt to make raspberry wine from my berries this year.) In addition, I was honored to share a table with State Rep. Kathy Schmultz. She is pictured here with the 2025 distinguished award winners: Darrin Buss and Diane Horning.
