Howdy hangers! Phoenix Here...
Whelp...sorry for going dark for a week or so. That storm really took it out of us. The weather in Ohio as a whole has been well...weird! 2% chance of rain to 99% all in a matter of minutes. While the storm took more of a mental toll on Dawn and the kids...it took a more physical toll on my hammock setup. The YOBOgear Turtlebug Stand held up like a champ during the first wave of the storm and the first tornado warning alert, however with the ground being saturated from the amount of rain during the week, the stakes were not able to hold up from the main blast of the line of storms and 50+mph gust of wind (at least that is my theory since it came up so fast we had to head to shelter away from camp). Even so 90% of the stand held up great, however one of the tarp poll broke right at the base and tore a hole in my DutchWare tarp (which I believe is my sign from the hammock gods that that specific tarp is cursed for me because that is my 2nd on to be destroyed by weather). The wind also blew my setup about 50ft from where is was setup through some briars or thorns, but most of that damage was also seen by the tarp. Quilts got soaked but a quick trip to the laundry mat fixed that and my Ridgerunner seems to be fine. But as for us we rode out the storm fine without harm. Will go more into things on my trip check-in which will be released this weekend. No worries though, I have a spare setup and still hearing to hang as we are finishing out our trip with Walhalla hammocks and outdoors and the WHO Hang in SC. Will also be posting pictures updates from the past week over the next few days. Happy Hangin Everybody!

In another episode of cafinated adventures. Stopped in this local roaster in Stow OH to grab a cortado and some beans. Great coffee and a really eclectic feel. I could totally sit here all day and drink coffee and study or read. If your in the Stow area check out Yada Yada Coffee . These beans smell very aromatic and can't wait to see how they will brew up.

Sooooo... tornadoes and 70 mph wind gust...we're not part of the plan. We are all safe and sound. We left the site and headed for shelter. My hammock setup...well not so much...won't know the extent of the damage till tomorrow. Let's just say I will be taking a trip to a laundry mat to dry my quilts at the very least.

Y'all know one of my absolute favorite things to do on our road trips is to visit local coffee roasters. Stopped in on a local place in OH, Bent Tree Coffee Roasters. The smell in this place was magical. The atmosphere really chill. The coffee... delicious. I usually don't order flavored lattes but tried their lavender latte and...wow, this drink really embodied this roaster. Staff were super friendly. Grabbed these beans and I can't wait to grind em' up for a brew. If you're in the area, these guys are a must try.

Phoenix here! Spending the overwhelming majority of this trip back in my Warbonnet Outdoors LLC Ridgerunner, using Hammock Gear quilts (yep regular GE quilts work well on a bridge), and the DutchWare Bonded Winter Tarp, and putting the YOBOgear Turtlebug stand with the bridge hammock modifications through its paces. I mean, look at that space! So far it hads exceeded expectations, which I will talk about at the end of the trip. Plus, really enjoying some more new gear from Red Paw Packs and Ticket To The Moon.
