LET'S NOT TRADE AMUWO ODOFIN FUTURE FOR CRUMBS

Dear Electorates of Amuwo Odofin,

In less than 24 hours, in the LASIEC Local Government Election our beloved Amuwo Odofin will head to the polls to elect a new Executive Chairman, a leader who will steer the affairs of our local government and shape the direction of our development over the next four years.

This moment is more than just a routine election. It is a defining opportunity a call to all of us who love this community to rise and be part of history. Your voice, your vote, and your presence are the most powerful tools you have. This is not the time to be indifferent. This is not the time to watch from the sidelines. This is the time to act. Let us show up and show strength.

We have all felt the weight of poor governance, bad roads, failing infrastructure and dwindling hope. But tomorrow, July 12, 2025, gives us the rare chance to say, “Enough is enough.”

Let us vote for competence. Let us vote for accountability. Let us vote for leadership that puts the people first. The destiny of Amuwo Odofin is in our hands let us not trade it for crumbs or allow apathy to hand our future to the unprepared.

Vote wisely. Vote boldly. Vote for the future we deserve.

See you at the polls.

VOTING GUIDELINE

Dear Electorates of Amuwo Odofin,

As we approach the crucial Saturday, July 12 LASIEC Local Government Elections, we send this important reminder to all eligible voters across Amuwo Odofin and Oriade LCDA:

When casting your vote for the Labour Party (LP), please do NOT use your thumb. The thumb is often too wide and may accidentally spill into another party’s box, leading to a voided vote. This simple mistake has cost many candidates valid votes in the past.

To ensure your vote counts, use your INDEX FINGER ☝️ or any other finger except the thumb. The law permits the use of any finger for voting, and using a narrower finger gives your vote the best chance of being correctly captured and counted.

Let your voice be heard clearly and without error. Let your vote reflect your choice.

May the will of the people prevail.
May Amuwo Odofin succeed.

FINAL NOTICE ON CAMPAIGN DEADLINE AHEAD OF THE LASIEC ELECTION

As we prepare for the much-anticipated Saturday, 12th July 2025 Local Government Elections organized by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), this is a final reminder to adhere strictly to the campaign deadline as outlined in the LASIEC electoral guidelines.

Kindly be informed that all forms of electioneering activities — both online (social media, websites, blogs, etc.) and offline (rallies, road shows, townhall meetings, etc.) must cease by 6:00 PM on Wednesday, 9th July 2025.

This directive is in strict compliance with Section 45 of the LASIEC Guidelines, which provides for a 72-hour campaign-free period before polling day to ensure fairness, neutrality, and preparation of the electoral process. Any political party, candidate, media handler, or campaign agent found violating this rule may risk sanctions, including but not limited to disqualification from the election.

We therefore urge all political parties to:

Immediately notify and instruct their campaign/media teams to halt all campaign activities by the stated deadline.

Take down any scheduled or automated political ads, broadcasts, or online posts that may be triggered after the cut-off time.

Respect the electoral umpire’s directives in the spirit of free, fair, and credible elections.

Let us all demonstrate maturity, discipline, and commitment to democratic values as we head into this historic electoral exercise in Amuwo Odofin

May Amuwo Succeed

A MESSAGE TO POLLING AGENTS

As the LASIEC Local Government Elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025, draw near, it is crucial for all Polling Agents to fully understand their roles, rights, and responsibilities during this vital democratic exercise.

One key point that must be emphasized is that the refusal of a Polling Agent to sign the result sheet does not in any way invalidate the result of that polling unit.

According to electoral guidelines, once voting, counting, and collation have been duly concluded, and the result announced, the result remains valid even if a party agent declines to sign it.

This underscores why your active presence and vigilance throughout the electoral process from accreditation, voting, and sorting to counting and final collation cannot be overemphasized.

Being absent or inattentive compromises not just your party’s chances, but the credibility of the entire electoral process. Polling Agents are not just spectators; they are the eyes and ears of their political parties.

You must observe the process, and raise any legitimate objections or observations at the appropriate time and in the right manner.

Let us all commit ourselves to ensuring a credible, peaceful, and transparent election in Amuwo Odofin LGA and Oriade LCDA, setting a positive example for grassroots democracy in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

May the will of the people prevail, and may democracy continue to deepen at the grassroots!

Let us join hands and speak loudly through the ballot for the rescue and true development of our dear Amuwo Odofin.

THE JULY 12 LASIEC ELECTION & ROLES OF POLL AGENTS

Dear Polling Agents,

As the July 12 LASIEC Local Government Election approaches, this is a crucial message to all polling agents representing their political parties across Lagos State. You are not just observers at the polling stations you are defenders of democracy, watchdogs of transparency, and the eyes of your political parties. The integrity of the electoral process at the grassroots depends significantly on how diligently you play your role.

Here are few vital guidelines and reminders to help you execute your duty effectively on election day:

✅ Before Voting Begins
The Presiding Officer must place the empty ballot boxes on the table, open them, and publicly display them to everyone present agents, voters, and security personnel before sealing them. This is a fundamental transparency requirement. Ensure this happens before voting commences.

✅ After the Last Vote is Cast
Once the last person on the queue votes, the Presiding Officer must, in your full presence:

Open the ballot box.

Sort the ballot papers according to party symbols.

Count the votes aloud, using the name or acronym of each party.

Record the votes of each candidate in LASIEC Form 009A and 009B accordingly.

✅ Your Role in Verifying Results
You are expected to cross-check the following:

Number of registered voters at the polling unit.

Number of accredited voters (should not exceed registered voters).

Number of ballot papers issued.

Number of unused ballot papers.

Total number of votes scored by all candidates.

If you notice that the total votes cast exceed the number of ballot papers issued, demand a full check and recount before results are filled and announced.

✅ Declaration of Results

Councilorship election results are declared at the Ward Collation Centre by the LASIEC Returning Officer.

Chairmanship election results are declared at the LGA or LCDA Headquarters.

🛑 Important Note:
A polling agent’s refusal to sign the result sheet does not invalidate the result. This is why it is essential to be present, alert, and actively involved from voting through counting to collation.

Let us all play our part to ensure a credible, peaceful, and transparent election.

May grassroots democracy thrive in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State and Nigeria.
