Promoting what is right about being a Devils fan
How did this podcast begin?
It all started one night when Sam Woo, Let’s Go Devils Podcast executive producer, did a Facebook Live rant and started to talk to Devils fans like himself about the state of the team. The Devils were amidst of a total rebuild and were losing many games. Sam went on to do silly Facebook podcasts that involved dressing up like Mickey Mouse or Devils legend Martin Brodeur to entertain Devils fans in order to keep Devils fans minds off of the losing. To his surprise, it was a success and Sam started to see the Devils community commenting on each live broadcast!
Realizing that Devils fans are devoted and loyal, Sam knew that it was time for the fanbase to come together during these lean and tough years. He asked himself, “What do all Devils fans all have in common?”
The Let’s Go Devils Podcast was established. Woo envisioned a unique NJ Devils podcast that would promote what is right about being a New Jersey Devils fan. Let’s Go Devils Facebook group members, such as Melissa Dawn, Shorts Guy, and Beer Baron, began to reach out to the Devils Fan community such as the Devils Army Blog and numerous Facebook groups like Devils Die Hards. Little by little, piece by piece, the LGD Podcast grew popular with many fan groups and it quickly became a great way to engage with Devils fans all over the world.
