The Power Division has denied the news of imposing a fixed tax of Rs 2,000 per kilowatt on solar power, however, the Power Division has not given any explanation on the proposal of the Central Power Purchasing Agency and the Power Division to reduce the per unit rate from Rs 21 to Rs 11. Told that there is no truth in the news of imposition of fixed tax on solar power, Central Power Purchasing Agency or Power Division has not sent any such summary to the government. It has been said in the declaration that rich people are installing solar panels in abundance, including domestic and industrial consumers, the government is also not having to bear the burden in the form of subsidy, as a result of which about two and a half to three crore poor consumers are affected.
