I keep thinking about Joseph on that long, difficult journey to Bethlehem. Can you imagine what must have been going through his mind? Protecting Mary, who was carrying the Savior of the world, and trusting that everything would work out. Did he worry about the roads ahead? About whether he was enough for what God had asked of him? And then, after all of that, hearing the words: “There’s no room.”

What must Joseph have felt in that moment? Exhaustion? Frustration? Fear? But even then, he didn’t give up. He found a way. He trusted that God would provide—and He did, in the most unexpected of places.

Tonight, as we celebrate the wonder of Christmas, I think about Joseph’s quiet courage. When we feel like there’s no room, when life feels overwhelming or uncertain, may we keep going. May we trust that God is already making a way, just like He did in Bethlehem all those years ago.

Merry Christmas Eve, friends. Let’s rest in that hope tonight.

We have to share some bittersweet news...

After much discernment, Mark and I have decided that this will be the last month of our Kids' Liturgy ministry. Sweet Baby Celine's arrival has increased our familial load in many ways, making it hard to attend to our jobs in the professional realm, while keeping up with everything at home, and devoting our time to this ministry. We have decided that this is the best decision for our family at this time; I know your child(ren) may feel disappointed (and we are feeling disappointed, too!!!), and we are beyond appreciative for your support during these last 4.5 years. Truly, this ministry has been a blessing beyond belief, and we are so grateful that God led us here to all of you! Just so you know, you will still have access to our re-run episodes (which run through almost the entire 3 year lectionary cycle).

**If your child(ren) have any Kids' Liturgy coloring pages to send in, our final deadline is this TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24.** You're welcome to send your child(ren)'s original faith-based artwork, too! (Please, no copyrighted coloring pages, as we aren't able to air these.)

Please know that we will pray for our Kids' Liturgy community each and every day! Your commitment to helping your child grow closer to Jesus is inspiring and fills us with so much hope for the future of our Church. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness in these past years, and God bless you as we ready our hearts for the coming of Christ.

In Christ's Peace,
Heidi and Mark

About Kids’ Liturgy

Heidi and Mark Witte are the producers of Kids’ Liturgy. They live in South Bend, Indiana, and are parishioners at Christ the King Catholic Church.

Heidi and Mark are especially grateful to Pflaum Publishing Group, a leading Catholic Publisher, who allows them to utilize their Children Celebrate Leader's Guide for their ministry, and to Catholic composer John Burland, who has graciously allowed them to use his beautiful, family-friendly religious songs on Kids’ Liturgy episodes.

Heidi Witte--also known as Miss Heidi-- is an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame ('09) and also holds an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from the Alliance for Catholic Education program at Notre Dame. She is a former Catholic school teacher and volunteer Children’s Liturgy catechist and cantor at her family’s parish (Christ the King Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana). She is a stay-at-home mom to her two young children and works as an independent contractor for Pflaum Publishing Group. Heidi’s husband, Mark Witte, films and edits all Kids' Liturgy videos. He is also a graduate of Notre Dame ('09), with his M.F.A. in Film and Television Production from the University of Southern California. Mark has nearly 10 years of experience in media production.
