We're casting for our next collaboration!

Casting Call: Seeking an actor of Jewish heritage/background for the supporting role of the male character Ben (age 30s-40s), to authentically portray a Jewish character whose cultural identity is central to the story. Jewish performers are strongly encouraged to submit. Open to all submissions; priority given to actors with lived Jewish experience/background due to the cultural specificity of the role.

This is a role for Beth Hinde’s upcoming mid length film, An Empty House, shooting the last weekend of July through the first weekend of August 2026 in Cedar Rapids, IA.

After the death of the aunt who raised her, Shawna returns with her fiancé Ben and his son to the home of her childhood to sort through the life left behind. What begins as a bittersweet farewell gradually shifts as the house reveals a side of her aunt she never knew existed. Shawna is forced into an unexpected reckoning between memory and truth, questioning the woman she loved most and the legacy she has inherited. An Empty House is an intimate family drama about grief, identity, and the difficult truths left behind by those we lose.

We’re telling a dark medieval fantasy horror about faith, judgment, and the cost of denial. We’ve already invested heavily in this film. This campaign allows us to finish it the right way—by paying our team and delivering a professional final cut.
