The Storyforge is glowing.

Deep in the Library, past the reading nooks and beneath the Curator’s study, the fire burns hot.

Stories are being tested there. Refined. Shaped by flame and prayer.

And soon, I’ll need help.

In December, I’ll be calling on a fellowship of readers — the Storysmiths — to receive advance copies of upcoming releases, cover them in prayer, and help launch them into the world.

This means early access. Behind-the-scenes updates. A chance to be part of the story before anyone else.

Readers’ Guild members will hear the full announcement first.

If you’re not subscribed yet, link in bio.

More details coming soon. 🔥✨📖

November holds a special reminder to be grateful.

And today, I’m thinking about my reading life. The books that found me at exactly the right time. The authors whose words felt like they were written just for me. The stories that reminded me who I am when I’d forgotten.

I’m also filled with gratitude that my first two novels will be available again under my married name. More news soon!

So here’s what I want to know:

What are you grateful for in your reading life?

A book that changed everything? An author who perfectly expressed what you were feeling? A character who felt like a friend? A story that became a refuge?

Tell me in the comments. I want to celebrate it with you. 📚🕯️✨

The Readers’ Archive is open, and the Courier is ready to deliver your letters to the Library.

The shelves stretch long and quiet, waiting for more stories. More questions. More readers.

Here’s what I want you to know:

When you write to me, you’re not just sending a letter. You’re adding your voice to something that will outlast us both.

Future readers will walk through this Archive and see that you were here. That you cared. That you believed stories and slow things still matter.

So write to me.

Tell me about the book that changed your life. Ask me a question about the writing process. Send me the bookish art that you’ve been creating.

The Courier is waiting. And so am I. 🕯️📬

Sometimes the most profound truths come wrapped in the simplest stories.

This month in The Curator’s Journal (the Library’s blog), I’m sharing about a children’s book by a dear author friend that’s captured my heart: Freddie and the Bear by Elizabeth Davenport.

It’s a story — inspired by her brother — about a quite mischievous bear, and honestly? I think grown-ups need it just as much as the little ones in our lives.

If you’re looking for a story to share with your children, I can’t recommend this one enough!

There’s a new room in the Library.

I call it The Readers’ Archive.

It’s tucked away past the reading nooks, beneath amber lanterns, waiting for your letters. Your stories. Your questions. Your art. Your prayers.

This is slow correspondence in a fast world. Tangible connection in a digital age.

And there’s someone I want you to meet: the Courier.

He serves the Cartographer, carrying words across thresholds. When you seal your envelope and drop it in the mail, he’s already on his way.

Write to me:

✉️ Your reading story: what sparked your love of books?
✉️ Questions about the Library or the stories it contains
✉️ Bookish art that’s been stirring in your heart
✉️ A prayer request. I’ll gladly pray for my fellow readers
✉️ Book recommendations for the shelves
✉️ Whatever’s on your heart

I write back. Every single time.

Maybe a postcard. Maybe pages. Maybe something tucked inside — a bookmark, tea, a pressed flower.

The Library’s address:

The Courier is waiting. 🕯️✨📬

Will yours be the first letter he delivers?

Are you the kind of reader who finishes every book you start, no matter what?

Or do you give yourself permission to DNF (did not finish) when a book isn’t working for you?

I used to be a “finish everything” person, but now I gladly set aside any story I’m not enjoying.

Life’s too short for books that feel like homework.

What about you? And what’s the most popular book you’ve added to your DNF pile? Tell me in the comments. 📚

I’m writing this with one hand.

The other is holding my six-month-old daughter, who’s decided that nap time is optional today.

There’s a half-finished scene sitting on my laptop. A newsletter draft waiting. A pile of laundry that’s been “almost folded” for two days.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I’m trying to remember that I’m not failing, I’m just in a season where “enough” looks different than it used to.

Being a mama and a writer is the most beautiful, exhausting, impossible thing I’ve ever done.

Some days, I write 200 words and feel like I conquered the world. Other days, I write nothing and just try to keep everyone fed and joyful. And both days are good. Both days matter.

But here’s what I’m learning: I can’t do it all. And that’s okay.

The stories will come. The Library will grow as God means for it to. My daughter will only be this small once.

So I’m writing in the margins. In the nap times (when they happen). In the quiet moments of early morning or nighttime when I’m too tired to think but the words won’t leave me alone.

And I’m learning to give myself grace.

To the mama writers out there: Do you have any advice? How do you balance the joy and the struggle? How do you protect your writing time without losing your presence with your babies?

I’d love to hear from you. Drop a comment! I need the encouragement (and I bet others do too). 💛📖👶

November is here, and I can feel the shift.

The air is crisper. The fire burns a little warmer. The stories seem to hum with a different kind of wonder.

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to slow down. To write by hand. To light candles and let the quiet settle in.

What favorite activities does November put you in the mood for? 🍂🕯️

Do you reread books, or are you a “one and done” reader?

I’m a re-reader. There are stories I return to like old friends when I need comfort, when I need courage, when I just want to remember to believe in all that’s good and right and true.

What about you? And if you DO reread, what’s the book you’ve read the most times?

Tell me in the comments. 📚🕯️

There’s someone I want you to meet.

I don’t know when he first arrived; it feels like he’s always been here, moving quietly through the halls of the Library.

But this morning, I found a bundle of letters on my desk, tied with string, and I knew.

The Courier had come.

He doesn’t speak much. Just sets down what he’s carried, meets my eyes with a knowing nod, and disappears before I can even offer him tea.

But I know this: he never loses a letter. He never forgets a name.

The November newsletter is coming soon, and everything will make sense. If you’re not in the Readers’ Guild yet, now’s the time.
