Dear Gianni,

Kindly accept my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the honour of appointing me to lead this all-important FIFA Players' Voices Panel on Racism.

I have always been committed to serving FIFA in various roles, including as a member of the FIFA Football Committee, and I will continue to do so now with unwavering dedication.

We are eager to begin this critical work.

To my fellow distinguished panellists, it is a proud moment working with all of you as together, we strive to kick racism out of the beautiful game, for the good of the game, and for humanity.

Respectfully yours,

04 September 2025

September 4, 2025, Monrovia - Representative Edward Papay Flomo has refuted allegations that he received funds from the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) for District 13.

This comes after Rep. Prince Toles claimed that each of the 73 electoral districts, including his own District 8, received $37,000 for projects.

Rep. Flomo clarified that between 2024 and 2025, his office did not receive any money from LACE for District 13. However, he acknowledged working closely with LACE's head, Julius K. Sele, to secure said funding for the district's development projects.

The lawmaker has been using community outreach activities to address the allegations and provide clarity to his constituents.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

President Boakai Announces Reduction in the Price of Eggs, Building on Earlier Measures to Stabilize Rice and Flour Prices

September 3, 2025

Executive Mansion, Monrovia-: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has announced a
reduction in the wholesale price of eggs as part of his Government’s ongoing price
stabilization efforts.

Following recommendations from the Presidential Ad-Hoc Committee on Price
Contradictions, chaired by Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, the wholesale price of a cartoon of eggs has been reduced from US$60.00 to US$50.00.

This announcement builds on earlier measures by the Government, which secured
reductions in the prices of other key staples—rice at US$14.00 per 25kg bag and flour at
US$35.00 per bag—to ease the economic burden on citizens and protect consumers
against arbitrary price hikes.

President Boakai emphasized that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, along with relevant inspectorates, is under strict instructions to ensure compliance with these
adjusted prices.

He cautioned that anyone found inflating costs outside the official rates will face the full weight of the law.

“These reductions reflect our determination to fight for the ordinary Liberian and ensure
that basic necessities remain within the reach of every family,” President Boakai said.

The President commended Vice President Koung and the Committee for their diligent
work and assured the public that further measures are underway to address the cost of other essential commodities on the market.

Rep. Flomo Promises Modern Conference Hall for New Georgia Bassa Town Bloc “D” Community...

Rep Edward Papay Flomo of Montserrado County Electoral District #13 has promised to build a modern conference hall for the people of New Georgia Bassa Town Bloc "D” Community for the purpose of housing community activities.

The Lawmaker made the pronouncement while attending a community-development meeting, held by residents of the New Georgia Bassa Town Bloc “D” Community on Sunday, August 31, 2025, which featured a formal request made to the Lawmaker for the construction of the facility to address current challenges they are facing in conducting community activities.

The meeting was attended by community residents who were mostly dominated by elders and youths including males and females.

Meanwhile, Rep Flomo awarded scholarship to five high school students from the community to attend any high school of their choices within District 13.

The Lawmaker used the occasion to refute claims that he is among Lawmakers who have received money in the amounts of US$37,000 and US$50,000 from the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) for District #13.

In a bold statement, Rep Flomo has informed the gathering and the public that, between 2024 and 2025, there has been no time he has received money from the Government of Liberia or LACE on behalf of the District. He encouraged residents including his critics to prove him wrong by verifying his information with LACE.

The Lawmaker has however informed the gathering and his constituents that his office is making frantic efforts with LACE to ensure that the money is given to the District to finance community programs.

Rep Flomo is a hardworking Lawmaker known for significantly contributing to his constituency through infrastructure developments, education and advocacy among others.

significant reductions in the prices of flour and rice following report and recommendation from the Presidential Ad-Hoc Committee on Price Contradictions, chaired by Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Sr.

President Boakai disclosed that the wholesale price of flour, which previously stood at US$39.00 per 100-lb bag, has now been reduced to US$35.00 per 100-lb bag.
Likewise, the price of rice, which was at US$16.75 per 25kg bag, has been reduced to

Full Statement Delivered By President Boakai at the Groundbreaking of the Two China-Aid Overpass Bridges on Tubman Boule...
02/09/2025

Full Statement Delivered By President Boakai at the Groundbreaking of the Two China-Aid Overpass Bridges on Tubman Boulevard.

September 2, 2025

Mr. Vice President;
Members of the Cabinet and Officials of Government;
Ambassador Lin Chengwu of the People’s Republic of China;
Members of the Diplomatic Corps;
Development Partners;
The Media;
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen;
Fellow Liberians:

Today, we are working on a project that will change how people travel, trade, and live along one of the Capital’s busiest routes.

The two overpass bridges on Tubman Boulevard, one near the Ministerial Complex and the other further east at SKD Boulevard, are more than just concrete and steel. They are practical solutions to reduce congestion, improve road safety, and prevent the economic losses our people face every day due to traffic delays in delivering and acquiring goods and services, as well as the movement of ambulances and fire trucks to where they are most needed.

This is the power of road infrastructure: it shortens distances, lowers costs, and enhances economic growth. Once these bridges are completed, there will be a visible sign of our Government keeping its promises to improve the efficiency of our road network.

This undertaking is rooted in the core of our national development plan, the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID). At its heart lies a recognition that road infrastructure is fundamental to inclusive growth. Roads connect people to opportunities and are essential to ending rural neglect. By investing in modern road systems, we are doing more than improving travel—we are building the foundation for a unified, accessible, and prosperous Liberia.

Let me begin by expressing the Government of Liberia's deep gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for its ongoing generosity in supporting Liberia's economic transformation. This cooperation and partnership between our two countries is at its best, with a significant focus on implementing tangible projects that align with our national development agenda.

To the Ministry of Public Works, I would like to express my gratitude for the careful preparation, technical diligence, and coordination required. Your steady work has brought us to this moment. By creating two modern, grade-separated intersections, we are now removing bottlenecks that have constrained mobility for years along Tubman Boulevard, leading to the city limits.

Upon completion, this project will provide numerous benefits to the people of Liberia.
• There will be fewer conflict points between vehicles and pedestrians, which will decrease crashes and injuries.
• Enhancing logistics for traders, schools, clinics, and small businesses along the corridor will boost activity and lower transportation costs.
• Reduce travel time during peak hours for travelers along the corridor.
• Ensure improved traffic regulation and support for public transportation efficiency.

These benefits are significant! Additionally, jobs and local opportunities are integral to our vision. Moreover, this project will create hundreds of direct and indirect jobs—from skilled technicians and machine operators to vendors and support services. We expect the contractor to uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and Liberian participation, including decent work standards and on-the-job training that builds long-term national capacity.

I want to address residents and businesses directly along this corridor. Construction causes temporary inconvenience through diversions, slower traffic, and work zones. I ask for your patience, cooperation with traffic officers, and your commitment to road safety. Please respect barriers, follow signs, and keep children away from work areas. These short-term inconveniences are the cost of long-term investment and progress.
Still, the result will definitely be worth it.

To our contractor, you are expected to deliver a high-quality project, maintain a safe construction site, and complete the work within the two-year timeframe set by the People’s Republic of China.

To the supervision and design teams: enforce standards and transparency in ex*****on. To the media: share the true story, including both challenges and progress, to keep the public informed.

Today’s groundbreaking ceremony marks a significant milestone as our Government prioritizes infrastructure investment to drive economic growth by building roads and bridges that connect communities and provide access to agricultural and mining regions. We are also emphasizing investments in energy and water supply to overcome economic growth barriers by aligning public resources and donor support with our national development goals.

I want to emphasize a principle that guides this Government: maintenance and stewardship. We will not only construct but also maintain. These overpasses will be part of a corridor managed with discipline, which involves enforcing right-of-way, restricting unnecessary parking, and upholding road safety rules. Infrastructure is only adequate in delivery when we take care of it.

Fellow Liberians, as these development projects take place, let our appreciation for transformation grow. Respect new developments and keep our environment clean.

Let me conclude by once again thanking the People’s Republic of China for its support and the Ministry of Public Works for the excellent coordination that led to the start of this project.

Together, we are building the Liberia we promised: a safer, faster, more connected, and more prosperous Liberia.

Fellow Liberians, it is now my pleasure to officially launch, on this 2nd day of September, 2025, the construction of the two China-Aid Overpass Bridges along Tubman Boulevard.

I want to thank God and thank you all.
