Cluster 9 (PRMSU-Candelaria Campus) faced a challenging day on October 14, 2025, as they went up against two strong teams in the menโ€™s basketball elimination round on the second day of the 3rd Presidentโ€™s Cup held at the Zambales Sports Complex.

In their first game, the Candelaria Stallions battled against Cluster 6 (San Marcelino Campus) Eagles. Both teams started strong, trading baskets early in the first quarter, but the Eagles soon found their rhythm and began to dominate. By the second quarter, San Marcelino had stretched their lead to 19 points as Candelaria struggled to convert on offense. The third quarter saw the gap widen further, with the Eagles leading 62โ€“34 before sealing the game with an 82โ€“44 win. Reggie Labio of Cluster 6 stood out with an impressive 37-point performance, earning the title of Player of the Game.

In their second game, Cluster 9 went head-to-head with Cluster 10 (Sta. Cruz Campus). The matchup began competitively, with both teams exchanging baskets in a close first quarter that ended 14โ€“12 in favor of Sta. Cruz. Candelaria managed to briefly take the lead midway through the second quarter, but Sta. Cruz quickly recovered, closing the first half with a 31โ€“26 advantage. Despite tying the score at 32-all early in the third quarter, Cluster 9 couldnโ€™t hold off Sta. Cruzโ€™s offensive surge, which extended the lead beyond reach. Despite falling short in both games, Cluster 9 (PRMSU-Candelaria Campus) concluded their menโ€™s basketball run in the 3rd Presidentโ€™s Cup with a display of effort and sportsmanship, leaving a mark through their determination and teamwork throughout the tournament.
