‼️‼️‼️ BY: CONCERN CITIZEN‼️‼️‼️
I have a concern and would like some clarification regarding your dress code, particularly for men wearing shorts that fall below the knee. Is it really the case that they are not allowed to enter and pray in the House of the Santo Niño of Basilica?
What about those who are very poor and cannot afford to buy pants? Or those who live on the streets people who genuinely wish to pray and kneel inside the House of the Lord but may not meet these dress requirements? I was under the impression that the Lord’s house is open to all, as we know that SANTO NINO does not turn away anyone who approaches, rich or poor alike. This is the concern we wish to bring to your attention, especially to Father Rector Rivera (KURA PAROKO Of SENYOR SANTO NINO OF BASILICA).
In our community here in Cebu City, the restriction feels alarming there seems to be no justification for denying someone entry to pray in what we call the House of the Lord. Does this mean that only those who appear wealthy are welcome? We can understand not allowing entry to those wearing sleeveless tops or overly short out of respect for Santo Niño’s House. But prohibiting those who are wearing shorts that fall below or around knee level feels excessive and challenging for many.
We hope that Santo Niño’s House can be welcoming to everyone, with appropriate guidelines that make sense for all.
Thank you very much...
