LISCR FC have secured the services of Lofa Wologisi’s standout defender, Sekou Kanneh, on a two-year deal.

The commanding centre-back, who was recently crowned Best Defender in the just-ended District League, is set to bring his defensive solidity and winning mentality to the Shipping Boys as they prepare for the new campaign.

Lofa County Misses Out on LFA Third Division League Participation ‎Local athletes and fans express concern over lack of competition opportunities

‎Voinjama, Lofa County — For the 2024/2025 season, Lofa County has not fielded any teams in the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Third Division League, a development that has sparked worry among local football enthusiasts and sports stakeholders.
‎
The Third Division League is widely recognized as the foundational tier for grassroots football development in Liberia, offering young players and local clubs an important platform to compete, develop skills, and gain exposure. Lofa’s absence from this competition means that its athletes are missing vital opportunities to progress within the country’s football system.
‎
‎🗣️ This is a big setback for football in Lofa. “Without regular league games, players lose motivation, and our clubs struggle to grow.”
‎
Several community members and sports leaders have pointed to challenges within the Lofa County Sports Association as a key factor. Concerns include a lack of effective communication with local clubs, limited presence within the county, and insufficient support to organize and maintain a sustainable league structure.

‎ Efforts to engage with officials such as Senator Momo T. Cyrus, Madam Mamasa Kamara and other county leaders have been made by concerned citizens calling for immediate action to revive football activities at the grassroots level.

Football fans and players alike hope that renewed focus and better planning can restore Lofa’s participation in future LFA competitions.

As Liberia’s national leagues continue to grow in competitiveness, the absence of Lofa County in the Third Division risks sidelining its promising talents from national recognition and development.

FC Fassell Launches Talent Detection Day with International Scout Presence

Monrovia, Liberia – FC Fassell is once again opening its doors to the next generation of football stars through its upcoming Talent Detection Day, set for Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Doe Community Field, beginning promptly at 7:30 AM.

This opportunity is open to talented young players born in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 who believe they have what it takes to become part of the FC Fassell family.

In a major boost to the event, a scout from one of Belgium’s top football clubs will be in attendance, offering participants a rare chance to be seen on an international level.

FC Fassell encourages all eligible youth players to come prepared, bring their passion, and showcase their skills. The club remains committed to developing local talent and connecting them to both national and international football opportunities.
