Devotional Excerpt:
Overwhelmed? Sad? Jesus never runs away
when we feel that way and run to Him.
Trust Him with me.
>>>"Take God's Word For It" is a weekly devotional by Stacie Ruth Stoelting Hudzinski.
"casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries,
and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him,
for He cares about you [with deepest affection,
and watches over you very carefully]" (I Peter 5:7, AMP).
Overwhelmed? Sad? Jesus never runs away when we feel that way and run to Him. Instead, He stays and asks us to throw our heavy loads to Him --casting it all on Him. All of the mess and messy feelings resulting from any kind of suffering. Nothing is too much for Him.
Today, remember to be "casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]" (I Peter 5:7, AMP).
You are not a statistic to God. You are His creation. Jesus does love you.
You are not your job, your role, your talent, your status. You are God's image-bearer. His special creation. And Jesus Christ Himself suffered immeasurably on the cross for you. And me, too.
Here's a thought that I had as I have dealt with some serious health issues throughout my life (all of which I was born with): If God spared us from everything and we consequently totally ignored and rejected Him, we would miss out on the ultimate Gift of eternal life in the presence of Jesus Christ Himself. Wow. That's a perspective changer! He never wastes our suffering. He always cares about our suffering, too.
He is with you and me. He is for us. He won't let us down. He'll carry us through. This season will pass. He has good plans for you. He loves you. Trust Him. And rest.
"Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us" (Psalm 62:8, ESV).
