oh snap! so that plain brown box I was excited about the other day… it was from 😁 [if you’re a camera person, read on. if you’re not, this is where you may want to drop or you’ll get bored 🥱 ]

camera people, you still here?

so i have a Rebel T2i from 800 years ago, approximately. and my two lenses are EF lenses from the before times. in this case, i mean before mirrorless cameras lol. I used to love that camera, but it was far too slow for what i like to capture… and a camera that’s too slow with a patchy that’s too fast was veryyy frustrating for me so i left all of it in storage. i told myself that if i wanted to upgrade, i could do it on the road but that i wasn’t lugging all of that around only to not use it. i really had no space for that.

fast fwd to last… April?? we got to Colorado, and i knew it was time. i knew i was staying (obvs!) so i ran off to and checked out whatever they had. LUCKILY the store near Colorado Springs had a big camera section, and i narrowed down to an R8 and maybe an R6 Mark II? i can’t remember. i didn’t want to spend thaaaat kinda money on this though so i went more “middle ground” (ngl it’s still pricey but not Mark II pricey).

so what was in that package? a lens adapter for my EF lenses!!! when i moved into the new house, the “thing” i was most excited about was my camera bag - my 24-105 and my 70-200 were in there waiting for me 🤤 BUT the R8 is not compatible with either of those.

there’s been a lot going on behind the scenes in the non-IG-facing world of patch and fam, so this just wasn’t a priority, but when i had some down time the other day, i snagged it. and frickin’ B&H man… free 2 day shipping!!! ahhh! it was in my hands so fast.

anyway, here are some shots from this week and one from before the adapter got here (sunset/dusk shot).

stay tuned for more hi fi doggy photos. i haven’t even pulled the 70-200 out yet 😏

it’s the simple things in life for me, like watching patchy learn new things and get more confident and just… have fun.

for patch, it’s this red floaty toy that does not belong to him and snackies at afterwards.

and just like that, he adventured his way through all the land and all the sand and all the water, especially when it’s hotter. but also when it’s cold cuz this lil guy is BOLD! his curiosity knows no bounds, and his joy finds its way to all the boys and all the girls he can find to play cuz there’s no other way to spend your time but making the most of every day.

lil nugget head is a big ol’ nugget now.
