🇺🇸 USA: Catastrophic Flooding in South Texas – Three Dead, Over 200 Rescued

🌧South Texas is experiencing devastating flooding after record-breaking rainfall. The Rio Grande Valley received up to 530 mm (21 inches) of rain in just 48 hours— nearly a year’s worth of precipitation. Authorities issued a flash flood emergency, as streets turned into rivers and rescue teams worked tirelessly.

🔴 Worst-Affected Areas:
- Hidalgo and Cameron Counties: Harlingen saw 460–530 mm (18–21 inches) of rain in two days, an event with only a 0.2% chance of occurring in any given year.
- Port Isabel: Recorded 330 mm (13 inches) of rain, an event with a 1% annual probability.
