In the New Orleans region, there is never a lack of seafood options for Lenten celebrations. And with crawfish boil season underway, there are even more options.
We rounded up our favorite seafood recipes for no-meat Friday Lent, including some New Orleans Cajun-style recipes and a few others to provide some options.
There'll always be a debate on how to boil crawfish properly or what makes a gumbo a gumbo.
If a Shrimp & Okra dish is made without a roux - is it a Gumbo or a Stew?
And what's your preference for a seafood boil? And where are you located?
We've also included a form in the article for you to submit your favorite recipes, which we'll include in a later post.

Whether you're a practicing Catholic or want a few good New Orleans style seafood recipes for Lent - we have you covered.

I know most people are interested in my posts and I'm trying to find affordable options. But, big changes in the past few years on pricing. I'm sure we're all aware of that one by now. And everyone has the same handful of affordable places to eat. Some of those I've tried and didn't feel the same.
Where do you go to find and food in region?

After a long break, Cheap Finds New Orleans is back. We'll continue delivering quality posts but on a slow schedule. We don't have revenue at the moment, and this site is powered by an individual on lots of caffeine.
There's a new 'Community' section. This section will include free public services, community services, non-profit organizations, and more. We hope this can empower residents regardless of their budget lifestyle and help build a stronger community.
And everyone has a different idea of what is low-cost. Not much is cheap anymore, so we'll cover everything possible but highlight costs so you can easily explore what fits your finances. Posts incoming soon and thanks for hanging around!

Cheap Finds New Orleans has returned from its long hiatus. New updates include a Community page to help highlight community services, public services, and non-profits in the City. Hoping to empower the residents of New Orleans to build a stronger community.
